Wine Shop at Home - a red wine lovers wine — 8 years ago
Actually not the beer indicated: this is a new one from Jolly Pumpkin called Isla Estrana. Fantastic sour saison. I'm terrible at identfying aromas in beer - and this one is tougher than most (but it smells great). Really complex with a lot of depth, but perfectly balanced through a lingering finish. And just enough tartness to keep it alive. Another home run from Ron Jeffries at JP! — 9 years ago

At home. Backyard. Awesome. — 10 years ago
Free sample at the grocery store was surprisingly good. Enjoyed a bottle at home with smoked pork loin. Well balanced tannins and fruit. Not a particularly big Cabernet, but substantial enough. I'll look for it again. — 11 years ago

For some reason, this wine’s bouquet reminds me of chicken tikka masala and the spicy, sweet aroma of good Indian cooking.
The bottle was recommended to me years ago by a Greek man named Nico who owns a shop in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City.
It’s bouquet is jammy, tart, spicy, sweet and cool air woodsy.
It’s taste a bit more peppery, surprising the palate into a frogmarch of seductive fruitiness, pure essence of vanilla, a complex jam of flavor and woodsiness. Love it.
This wine never disappoints me and at $11.99 from TJ or $13-$15 from a local wine shop, it’s a home base, comfort bottle for a night in.

This has been one of my favorite red blends. Not syrupy andnot heavy. Light and yummy. — 8 years ago
A great basic red. Lightly sweet and easy to drink, by itself or with a meal. — 10 years ago
I just picked this up at my wine shop for $7.99! Say what?! It's sweeter than I tend to like but otherwise really yummy, especially paired with the slice of pepperoni I just shoved in my mouth. Keeping it classy at home on a Saturday night. — 10 years ago
Zin moves outta da way. BIG black fruit. Needed 10 minutes to open even after decanting. The transition was fun and the wine was glorious at the end. . At $44 it is a bargain. I'll shop for this to have at home — 11 years ago

Lovely bottle we picked up for 5€ at the neighborhood shop- hope I can find it at home! — 13 years ago
Had it at a Greek restaurant and loved it. Hunted down several bottles I had a wine shop and brought them home. They did not disappoint. Mild almost like a Merlot great with lamb chops. — 8 years ago
Really like this - nice minerality and fruit. We bought this at a little wine shop in Paris (after trying it there and liking it!) on our last day and took it home. Great value. — 8 years ago
So damned good! From the wine shop in Saumur. 35 euros. Complex and creamy. Yet clean. Hopefully Patrick will see if he can pick this one up!!! We all loved it!!! Would be $60-70 on shelf at home but worth it!!! — 9 years ago

Delightful, classic Cab. Was better when tasted onsite but lovely 2 months later at home, as well. Needs a little time for aromas to meld in the glass. Could easily store another year or three. — 8 years ago
