Amazing wine experience!
If you have never tried an Emidio Pepe wine look up his wine making process.
Highly highly recommend trying one his old school classic wines!
Decanted for 60 min.
Initially a bit funky but that diminished over time. It has a great nose and very hard to describe over than funky with some cherries. Earth, sour cherry, and a bit of leather on the palate.
This is truly incredible wine experience and well worth seeking out! — 7 years ago
Aged fabulously. Brought with us to a restaurant with a deep vertical of this winery. Phenomenal wine experience. — 8 years ago
Tawny amber color. Translucent with a heavy weight in the glass. Has a hotness in the nose and almost seems a bit fortified in the mouth. Notes of brown sugar, mocha, some pepper and sherry. You can definitely feel the power and weight of this wine, but we suspect this has turned a bit to become a little bit madeirized. Still a memorable experience. — 8 years ago
This 2012 Sassicaia surprisingly open and approachable for such a young vintage. Restaurant location is unique and experience. Food should be much better. — 9 years ago
Iconic bottle absolutely stunning still well balanced with soft tannins. Great bottle once in s lifetime experience — 9 years ago
It is going out from the best time for drink it, anyway a great experience. The wine has become increasingly herbaceous with the tannins pushing through the fruit and becoming more aggressive. The wine started off life impressively deep ruby/purple but is now showing some amber at the edge. It is a medium-bodied, rather elegant style of Petrus with a distinctive cedary, almost celery component intermixed with a hint of caramel and sweet mulberry and black cherry fruit — 9 years ago
Unique experience to try the Dom Perignon 1998 P2!! Waiting for a P3!! Perhaps the 1973 vintage :) — 10 years ago
A real taste experience. Very interesting to see how this will age. — 11 years ago
WNH event number 3...new world Pinot. Such a treat to experience the many different variations of Pinot!
One of my bottles. After getting these in a few weeks back, I was like a kid on Christmas to see how it was tasting. All the check marks for this to be a knockout in a few years. Wonderful red and black fruit medley with sharp acidity. Mineral/graphite on the palate and sandalwood. Toasted black cherries and ripe plum. — 6 years ago
My youngest son's 21st birthday was last night and this was his selection - not a fan from my past experience but this is pretty good - I bought at an auction awhile back and had forgotten I even had it but he went right to it - haha - so for a birthday wine it is fantastic
Love you son and he and I are smiling together — 8 years ago
Awesome experience a 1991 Caymus Special Selection. Upon opening showing good fruit in the nose. Tannins have dissipated. Thought it might be over the hill? No Way! Tried with WW staff. A gift from Dr Bill! You know who you are. Great 25 yr old bottle of Cab! Big Wow! — 9 years ago
Velvet texture and finish and really integrated structure. Lots of American oak and tobacco cedar notes. Fruit has faded a bit but opened up with time. Cool experience — 9 years ago
In Mag. 76s DRC are all drinking so well now. Tks Geoff! (tasted at The Fine Wine Experience Burghound Gala Dinner) — 10 years ago
1960 was for kind of forgotten close to the nice 1959 and 1961 vintages - but the wine still handle well, with a light profile, a nice experience from a nice gift, maybe 60 was better for the Beatles !? However it feels kind of younger than 1960 at first sight, an off vintage in good shape but will get soon enough to its peak 😐 — 11 years ago
Great Level but black cork. Looked in reasonable condition but a little muted and, although not faulty, it was a little unknit. Felt like a decent Pessac but without the fireworks you usually experience with HB; could sense the bonfire underneath but didn’t quite pop. — 7 years ago
1986 vintage. At Au Fils du Zinc in Chablis - thank you Fabian for picking the best white wine experience of the year. This was a wine that Mr Raveneau didn't release because he thought there was too much oak and sulphur. Only recently did they realise they had a gem. Medium golden hue. Honeyed, white peach, lemon pieces, iodine and crushed rock minerality. Slight bovril note and sea shell with air. Amazing complexity. On the palate, perfect balance between fresh acidity and body, highly concentrated and layers of complexity. Very very long. Outstanding. Still fresh enough to last another 7-10 years at least. — 8 years ago
A true experience. The color was beautiful and well intact. The nose bursted out of the glass with incredible complexity and elegance. Sweet black fruits, paprika, smoke, mushrooms, and just dying flowers dominated the nose and palate. The structure was well intact with silky tannins, fine acidity, and present alcohol. The wine just kept on going for at least 45 minutes in the glass and length on the palate was equally impressive. #drc #DRC #domainedelaromaneeconti #grandsechezeaux #cotedenuits #pinotnoir #burgundy #1947 #ctbucklinwine — 9 years ago
This bottle exhibited just a little more oxidative, edgy volatile aromas but still delivered a convincing wine experience with a depth of flavor unlike most and lasting finish. Forgot to note the date of disgorgement! I think 2010 — 10 years ago
A little less exciting than I expected. Definitely opens with with air, but I did not experience the dense tastes some have described. Well balanced with soft tannins, but not much nose or finish. Maybe the 2001 is past its prime. — 10 years ago
Full body. Has a Vanilla finish. Awesome experience — 10 years ago
#1999 this was outstanding and is by far the best premium champagne that is made IMO, pricey but worth the experience when you can make it happen. Intense and full bodied, this was a baby and 15 years young, a 30-50 year wine easy! #shrek #champagne #salon #lemesnil #chardonnay — 11 years ago

Tasted blind. Light tawny but there's a nice brightness in the color. Great old Bordeaux nose. Notes of black raspberry, cherry, moist forest floor, gravel and a little mocha. Amazing complexity in the mouth. This has more going for it in the mouth/finish when compared to the 55 Palmer next to it. The 55 Palmer overall was a better experience, but this was best in class for its complex mouthfeel. Guessed 1961 Palmer. — 6 years ago
