Toured this winery in 2014 and was a member for 1 year. We bought a mixed case and recd another case via mail. A neat place to visit & do a tour. A lot of history. Outstanding on site restaurant. This one really smoothed out. "Hening's Statute- Virginia Barrel-Agrd Claret: Cabernet Franc 60%, Cab Sav 20%, Malbec 12.5%, Petit Verdot 7.5%. Delicate & subtle" — 9 years ago

This wine smells so fantastic, you could smell it for 10 min. before drinking. It reminds me of a berry medley. Will drink again. — 11 years ago

Nice red purple hue with hint of orange highlight when shallow. Nose like an old inn - fireplace, cedar and stone, earth and mushroom. Begins somewhat muted, then evolves to slightly gamy wood and mushroom, then a long pleasant finish with a bit of berry fruit. Low tannins, medium-to-low acidity, not sweet. Fairly unique, enjoyed it quite a bit, with my wife and a friend. — 10 years ago
The 2012 is not the Trader Joe's version mentioned in 2009 reviews. We are loving the balance between the fruit and butterscotch finish, which comes through in a Hampton Inn paper cup. — 11 years ago
Nice in tannins, delightfully long finish — 11 years ago

Drank a glass at Ivy Inn in Charlottesville, VA while in town for SNL training. Wonderful restaurant and shockingly good wine. Mainly because it is from VA. — 11 years ago

I loved this. So light and unique. Only had one other Malvasia Bianca, and this one stands up to that. Delicious. — 8 years ago
