From southern CA in the Temecula area I was able to try some Wiens wines in a recent CA trip. Grapes from Kidder Vineyard (100% Syrah), Deep red with berry fruit aromas and complex spice notes. On the palate blackberry and black cherry flavors with smoky oak, cacao and cracked pepper notes. Good balance, soft tannins and carrying fruit bring this wine to a lingering finish.
