It has been a while since I found an inexpensive wine that thrills me the way this one does. The flavor hits all the right notes in the mouth. It has a very pleasant feel on the tongue. And even though it is a dry red, it isn't so dry it makes me pucker. It really makes me say "aah". And then take another sip. Wow, a marvelous and unexpected quartet of "white" wines (including white no skin Pinot Noir!) that makes for a spectacular blend, more like avant garde string quartet than a rock band, with dazzling aromatics and a plush structure from Pinot Blanc. My first time tasting Marcus Goodfellow's wines at Matello. The fact he also finds Viognier & Syrah in North Willamette and crafts remarkably true to terroir wines makes this a winery to follow! — 11 years ago
