This was a perfect moment for this wine. My 1yr wedding anniversary, 10/06/2014. Ippolito 1996 Ripe Del Falco Riserva. Ripe tart cherry, figs and forest grace the stage and hints if cedar whisper in the background. Galioppo at its finest! — 11 years ago

Dark color that is reflected in the nose and on the palate. The aromas of dried lemon and lemon sourdough predominate, but there is also a snippet of lemon verbena and jackfruit, dried apricots, pumpkin, dried mango, dried papaya and a Flemish red beer streak! The lemon and beer notes are evocative of a brew room after cleanup, but a honey note in a spring grove plants you firmly outside. Plenty of sunshine here, and tangerines in a basket with fresh bread. Medium to heavy mouthfeel, and blood orange, grapefruit, lemon drops, grapefruit pith, limestone and a dried grass and chalky lemon pith finish that is exemplary. A writhing, evolving spectacle that boasts the intermittent Apple cider vinegar whisper without offense. Tannins abound, along with lemoncello custard. — 11 years ago
Cool berry and a whisper of earthy funk. Fine firm tannins and a bit if cocoa on the finish. Sneaky acid. Drinks at or maybe above its price point. Glad I have more. — 12 years ago
With a splash of Sparkling Apple Cider it's like a whisper of summertime. — 13 years ago
edging senility but so good right now, especially after 45 minutes of air, reveals earthy delights of wet potters' clay, dried basil, cedar, graphite shavings with an unexpected whisper of dark chocolate dust all wrapped up in a palate showing spice, with a unique balsamic & toast presence that slides to a lip smacking finish. — 11 years ago

Straight delicious. Starting to pop open. Secondary notes starting to whisper a bit. Always a joy to drink this wine when it begins to open up. #lapaulee — 11 years ago
