Refined silky.....no.... abstract, cunning and wildly spicy. It is everything I expect from extreme farming on the Sonoma coast. I bought this at release and is all that I imagined. — 9 years ago
Wow, just got this Pinot from Whetstone. This is seriously good. Nose is earthy and with a big, dense fruit rush. Legs are long, but you don't get that true alcohol taste. My Riedel Som Pinot glass is brimming with a dark, almost eggplant color...every swirl releases a wonderful aroma. Just beautiful. — 9 years ago
Like I just licked a whetstone, you can taste the earth that these vines came from. Blackberry and cocoa late on the palette. Definitely needs some time to open up, but a great wine from the moment of uncorking. Very well layered. — 11 years ago

Perfetto. For the moment. Some classic whetstone character quite immediately. — 12 years ago
Golden straw, low forming tears

Lazer sharp, bone dry, brilliant effervescence. — 10 years ago

Tasted with learnaboutwine group at winery 2-2014. The 2010 is optimal now - textured, round, voluptuous, achieves great fruit purity with high aspirations. Spectacular sitting at the fireplace and lengthy finish - a mouth full — 12 years ago
2007 Olivier Leflaive Grand Cru. Holy moly. So much power. So balanced. It's stone fruit and whetstone mineral drive is couple excellently with a creamy texture from age and subtle oak manipulation. So much length. This is an extraordinary wine. Gosh I love white Burgundy. Bravo. 97 points. — 11 years ago

My first viognier with some age on it. Major coconut cream pie, with other stone fruits as supporting cast. Still noticeably high alcohol, but maybe because I usually drink fairly low alcohol whites. Interesting and tasty wine. — 8 years ago
