5th Anniversary, re-release in a 4-pack box under $20!!! Had this back in the day, loved it then, still love it, this is close to original " Ruination" big piney hops, grapefruit, caramel malt, bitter as it was meant to be, a true west coast classic beer, Stone has come away from this style in the last few years, but it good to see them put this out, because as they say, most people think or say they had this beer, but really they did not, it was a very limited release, I do remember that, it was only available in very few states, and really only widely available in California — 9 years ago
Dark and dry. Just a hint of cocoa. — 9 years ago
Alfred Eames was born & raised in Spain. He is an excellent wine maker that lives in Paonia CO. In my opinion this is one of his best wines! — 9 years ago
Roughtail Brewing Pale Ale. Canned 2 days ago. West coast style. Super fragrant and very well balanced. Outstanding effort here. — 10 years ago
A sessionable IPA - checking Kentucky off my list! — 10 years ago
Wow, a wine night to remember. Thanks Taylor and co! — 10 years ago
The best beer this brewery has put out, so far, all their beers are very good, this one is excellent, in the style of a double west coast IPA, four different hops, and a perfect balance of a big malt backbone, very impressed, last year only on tap, now in 12oz 4 packs, — 11 years ago
Finally got some west coast love in New Orleans. Lagunitas & Green Flash available! This tastes like an Asian summer with mandarin-tangerine / flowery profile. — 11 years ago
True to the name. A very nice west coast hoppy brew. Green Flash is great! — 11 years ago
Great bottle for the price. Discovered similar bubbles from same maker at Seaworthy in New Orleans by the glass. All the while eating east/west coast oysters. Purchased at Keif & co. — 8 years ago
10th Anniversary IPA Re-release for the 20th Anniversary Encore Series, big big west coast hops, pine, citrus, peach, orange peel, sweet malt, 10% AVB, Triple IPA, not technically a style, especially back then, adds the new hops now common, Summit and chinook hops, Outstanding back then, and still very impressive, the closest beer to compare with this is Avery's Maharaja, which is still Outstanding as well — 9 years ago
Fantastic value for money — 9 years ago
Sitting at 3.9 standard drinks a bottla these bad boys do not dissapoint. Passionfruit, citrus, hops, hops n hops. — 10 years ago
Very west coast, very good west IPA, if you like your IPA's more on the tropical taste profile, like I do, you will love this, big pineapple, mango, orange, grapefruit, — 10 years ago
Has Eldorado hops, more like a east coast IPA, no west coast hops at all, that explains the hop taste, more like a hopped up brown ale, but I really taste the Eldorado hops, not my favorite hop profile, but does fit the hop profile of a Eldorado hop IPA — 11 years ago
This a very good IPA, I like this a lot, it so well balanced, and even though it does try to push too much on the hops and citrus notes, mostly grapefruit, which gives that classic west coast IPA profile, it is there to let you know what it is and the style it is, this beer gets lost in the very large market of west IPA's but it such a treat to drink, super cheap and well worth it, get if you can, not a big hop head beer, which I like, but to have this proves you do not need to hop some beers up to be good, like this one is, really good — 11 years ago
Think it's a new release, Incredible texture, teeth staining, inky purple, planted in 2000 on a west facing hill over the San Pablo Bay, Southern Petaluma Gap, constant afternoon wind. Intense, amazing structure, violets, raspberries, pepper, meat, funk. 50% WC, Viognier co-fermented, Feels like it's going to age for a long time, has everything, alcohol, acid and tannin, probably coming back to the next bottle in 2024. Ridiculous wine. — 9 years ago
Very nice balance of plum and spice. Very mellow and mouth filling. — 9 years ago
This is in your face West Coast IPA, here on the west coast we honor and cherish this beers, these are the ones that started the DIPA beers, this brewery in fact was one of the first, West coast IPA's San Diego brewery, multiple locations, Associated with Port brewery and Lost Abbey, big hops, big malts, we still crave and need these beers, when everyone else is going to the tame and mellow DIPA's it is very good to see this brewery remaining true to what they do, Just Like Stone brewery, in cans, big plus, stays fresher longer, All IPA's and DIPA's should be in cans, Excellent DIPA, in the style, West Coast all the way, no mistake of that — 9 years ago
Pine, hoppy, hoppy, hoppy and a touch skunk but great with Sichuan! — 10 years ago
This the New revamped version of Stone's Landmark Classic Double West Coast IPA, 2.0 It adds newer hops and picks up the ABV 8.5% because of the need to stand in the current market of big and hoppy IPA's these days, Stone decided to improve their classic beer, and yes it is a improvement, more tropical and cleaner malt, still bitter by most standards, hence the name, Until "Enjoy By" came about this was my favorite DIPA, Still a Great beer, and I do like the new hop profile, but as much as "Enjoy By" this is still just a big hop bomb, "Ruinten " is always the one to pick up ever year, but overall great that Gregg decided to do this, good choice, I am happy to still have this available all year long in its New improved version — 10 years ago
Love this beer, Stone's Famous lank mark strong ale "Basartd" 17 Adversary, combines all three "Basartd's to make the best of all, big fresh hops, because it is only released fresh once a year, big west coast style, leans more to a double IPA, but rich Carmel malt backbone, just awesome brew, nails the best of all three — 11 years ago
Very nice IPA with 50% wheat instead of barley. Brewed with west coast and New Zealand hops. If you don't like IPA's, you'd probably like this one. Very mild. — 11 years ago
