Carneros Pinot Noir 2016

This is the kind of Pinot I love. Fruit in the nose, dirt and tannins in the taste. I’m a big fan of this one. The comments are ridiculous. — 4 years ago

Initial nose of earth and strawberries. Rhubarb, plum, toasted oak on the palate and bright bing cherry on the finish. Still my favorite vineyard and vintage from this producer. — 6 years ago

Field White Santa Barbara County White Bend 2013

A blend I couldn't have made a preconceived notion of (37% Grenache Blanc, 37% Albariño, 26% Verdelho). All parts played beautifully & the co-ferment creates a singular wine of character & finesse, but one which delivers flavor & depth along with great White wines from the corresponding global regions. Stunning. — 10 years ago

Hudson Vineyard North Carneros "Pleine de Chêne" Syrah 2008

Extra time has done this one well, taming the original 200% new oak. One of the three Bedrock expressions from the Hudson Vineyard. For ‘08. With all previous bottles from that group consumed five or more years ago, glad I saved this one. Loved it. — 4 years ago

North Coast Syrah 2016

A little richer syrah expression than some of the single vineyards but well balanced. Dark fruit with a spice and pepper note that should continue to evolve for several more years. — 6 years ago

Carneros Chardonnay 2013

Beautiful pale gold in the glass with thin edges. Pineapples, pears, honey crisp apples, and vanilla on the nose. The aromas don’t try to overpower you with, instead they subtly seduce you. Plush mouthfeel and incredible balance. This is not a stereotypical buttery Chard, nor is it overoaked. There’s oak to be had here but just about the right amount. On the palate, the citrus qualities come to life more but not in an overbearing manner. Lemon, more pears, and melon on the forefront with butterscotch and apple pie on the backend. A little unexpected spice note on the finish takes this baby home. Classic but not austere, a bit of elegance without the pomp. Very nice stuff. — 7 years ago

Floral perfume. Others say cool climate syrahs are light and airy. This ones no exception. Almost drinks like a Pinot. No game or smoked meats. Mild acids and moderate tannins. — 7 years ago
