Wow; how maturing #margaretriver #chardonnay does vary; see recent #cullen #2009 which was brassy, this gleaming green and plenty of it; #cullen restrained, this #capementelle is butch; nose power of smoke or burnt things, bottle age nose not simple, evidence of lees/ mlf from the smoke; palate chunky, lime juice, burnt toast you taste in 30 yo Eden Valley riesling; juicy smoke; rich, not terribly drying, acid taut, 13%, AUD 35, full bodied, no apparent reason for it to fade for a while; contained power. #uncorkedandcultivated #wineandfoodtours — 9 years ago
Good on the palette. Nicely oaked, with a pleasant, well balanced finish. — 10 years ago
Treinspoor is pure Tinta Barocca from a parcel to the west of Malmesbury that was planted in 1974. Delicious.

First of 3 1996 Cabernet based vintages and this was the best easily in better form than Palmer. The Moss Wood had trademark herbaceous and brambley notes. Good length. Will go on for years more but hard to resist now. Perfect with Cape Grim rump. 18.5- — 11 years ago

Wine supposedly recommended for 3-5 yrs age, went 10! Still young. #capementelle #margaretriver #chardonnay #2006 ; wheaten style; 13.5%, AUD 33. — 9 years ago
Beautiful natural acidity some stove fruits and citrus — 9 years ago
Fresh, passion fruit. Drinking great with plenty of fruit upfront, impressive — 10 years ago
Great Bordeaux Blend from the Margaret River in Western Australia. Nice nose with hints of red fruit, licorice, and spice. The taste is somewhat old world, there is fruit, but it seems more earthy to me. Nice change from the big Fruit bombs I have been drinking lately. — 10 years ago
Great fruit and colour. A very juicy wine at a good price.

Good everyday-wine :-) — 9 years ago
Cherry notes with some dust and spice. Medium bodied at best yet ripe fruit with traces of spice on palate. Marg River Shiraz from the north does not have a definitive identity. Shiraz seems to do better in the south ie Voyager, Cape Mentelle and Leeuwin Estate. — 9 years ago
Beautiful and elegant, very savory, loads of eucalyptus. — 10 years ago
Aside from Willowbridge and Cape Mentelle I have never really explored Western Australian Shiraz. I had no idea Mount Barker was cool climate and was pleasantly surprised to find this wine to be medium bodied. It's quite rich and complex but also elegant to the point that it vaguely reminds you of old world Shiraz from the Northern Rhone. Black pepper and red berry on the nose with a succulent plum flavour on the palette. Tremendous savoury character with soft, fine tannin profile. Solid drop. — 10 years ago
Tastes like spicy chocolate and berries. This one will be hard to beat. Amazing depth and breadth of flavor. — 11 years ago
