Cinnamon & clove, exhaust, stronger tannins, fruity, balanced, fig, blueberry. Yum! — 4 years ago
Hazy garnet in the glass. Nose and palate of red apple peel, red cherry, rose petals. Fruit forward, but not a bomb by any stretch. Medium full body. Medium acidity. Medium plus tannins that assert themselves fully on the finish. Heavier than expected for a Grenache, but that just makes this all the more satisfying especially eleven years on. Pork roast is the order of the evening. Thanks, Peter! — 6 years ago

Drank 2012. Wonderful fruit and nose. Drank in lounge at LHR May 19 2015 — 9 years ago
Erg mooi glas! — 9 years ago
Bought in George, SA. Very smooth, integrated. — 10 years ago
Da bomb, for sherry lovers: Palo Cortado versión. A shape shifter on the palate & ringing on the higher registers, this Hidalgo checks all the boxes for me, which includes a lightness & freshness heaven made for most food. Burnt pine cone & toffee bits, a subtle mushroom thing (oyster?), & a rather trim beef bouillon broth lurking on the back end. That may all be bs but it’s a wine that inspires….. — 2 years ago

Grandpa of Sherry. Only 30yr old grapes allowed and each batch needs to be carbon dated. This batch is now 52 yrs old. Smooth, velvety, showing its complex age with the wood — 9 years ago
Excellent wine. Polished finish. Fairly light. Interesting bouquet. Complex aftertaste. Excellent to drink on its own or with food. Also great to drink chilled in the warm summer evenings. — 9 years ago

In a slightly closed state right now, but this is ticking all the boxes. I had this a year ago, so this window is temporary.
Wonderful wine. Turn around and discover you drank the whole bottle with ease. .nice. — 8 years ago
A bit too light on the palate for my taste but look this is a decent red for a hot day. Also can be had with most foods. Tart taste with some citrus. Nose of light leather and mellow oak. Good value, for the $ you can't go wrong. Jacked the rating a couple of notches. The wine opened got better. Thank you Wellington — 8 years ago
