"Power without weight" was the first thing that came to mind when I was blinded this wine. I knew it was a German Riesling from the bottle's shape, and I instantly gravitated towards two producers - Keller and Emrich Schonleber. You know... it's a gut feeling and few producers pull out wines quite like they do! Didn't quite get that it was a GG due to the wine's length initially, but I was certain it came from a Grosses Lage site due to the complexity (perhaps from younger vines - think Lenz or Westhofen).
Day 2 and this was an absolute showstopper! The elegance is confounding for a 2015, but it still flexes just enough power. The length has improved radically - long, airy, and incredibly saline. There's a rich creamy element on the palate, balanced by zesty goodness and razor sharp acidity. The nose is gorgeous - floral, ripe, and herbal. I seriously love this wine today, but really... It's one for the ages. — 6 years ago
This wine set a record at #auction when 3 of these double #magnums were offered so it was an enormous pleasure and great honor to have been able to experience this massively impressive 10-year old #GG while sitting next to it creators!
#2006 was a notoriously challenging vintage where rampant #botrytis and heavy selection were the order of the day; nevertheless in the hands of the Kellers yet another epic wine was born--THANK YOU!!! #Keller #AbtsE #Westhofen #Riesling #Rheinhessen — 9 years ago

Yahoo. No weight at all. Some petrol that blows off and gives way to classic Morstein mineral core and electric fruits. — 6 years ago
Absolutely delightful with a cheese and dessert. Crispy caramel & honey. — 8 years ago
A whiff of sulphur on the nose but nothing that decanting could not fix.
Citrus and pineapple hit your nose with a sledgehammer. In the mouth I was surprised by the amount of fat, something I have not experienced with other Keller GG's. The decanter played the role of a fitness trainer as it slowly started reducing some of the fat. I hope that time will slim this down. — 9 years ago

Honeysuckle and lime blossoms with slightly spicy stone fruit. $55 — 6 years ago
Lightly sparkly. Very refreshing. Drink very cold. Great taste of citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and green apple. A perfect Riesling like wine. Perfect fruity balance which makes the wine very easy to drink (danger). Great for summer. Found in a rarewine store in le marais Paris. Very hard to find. If you can get your hands on this, don't hesitate — 7 years ago
What a wine. Westhofen continuing to challenge my Mosel loyalty. Richly spiced nose - allspice inflected apricots and rocks, with some of that lanolin character, which I sometimes find in riper Riesling. Full and weight in the mouth, with apricot/rainier cherry fruit, broad but focused. The finish is all Riesling - full of zip and drive. Long. Jochen Dreissigacker clearly paid close attention during his time with Keller. — 8 years ago
2011 vintage. Classy and airy stuff defying gravity. Super-concentrated, loaded with pure, dense and gently candied stone fruits accented by crème brûlée and grilled lemon additions, with laser sharp acidity for freshness and cut. Will age effortlessly. — 10 years ago
