This 11 year old Napa Cabernet is delicious now. Rich and elegant.

Complex nose with lots of black fruits. Really nice.

Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf and herbs.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

2007 Peter Michael Point Rouge Chardonnay. HB w MnD and J&D B. We loved this wine wine so much at the Heart concert and we loved it tonight. Floral, along with notes of buttery brioche and oak. However, somewhat surprisingly, as we drank this in comp to the 2013 Ridge Monte Bello Chardonnay, it did not win out. Still such a great wine that we really, really enjoyed. — 8 years ago

Danny is drinking solo as he has been since June (counting the days until cleared to drink again) — and comments include, “it gets better the colder it is; I like French and New Zealand SB more; it doesn’t have the acidity we are used to...” Most importantly, tonight we toast to Josie as we wrap our head around what 22 August will forever mean to us. 2006. 8yr old Zin from Lodi. This used to be a bruiser of a wine. Now it's quite balanced, nuanced, and at the end of its life. Very vegetal with green bean and English pea aromas, balsam, and tasting of an amalgam of stewed raisined cherry, black currant , oak, mushroom, and white pepper. 16.5%abv. — 10 years ago
