1999 Domaine A. Rousseau Clos St. Jacques Gevrey Chambertin. Dinner w K at B. Let it open in glass for close to an hour. Needed it. Super tight at first and then opened up. Really great once it did. — 9 years ago
1985 Domaine des Chezeaux Griotte-Chambertin burgundy. Dinner at Ner w B&K K. Had no idea what to expect w this wine and we loved it. Was the fave of the night. Nice tartness to the wine and more fruity and bigger than one would guess. Bright acidity was what was so interesting and delicious. No decanting. K noted to find more. — 9 years ago
2007 Mauro VS Vino de la Terra Tempranillo. Dinner at Ch Ven w J&L B and J&J D. Huge wine with tons of dark fruit- plum, blackberry- and even chocolate and leather. Really enjoyed. We all would have guessed it was a Cal Cab had we not known. — 10 years ago
Very mineral nose w/ some grass, citrus, pear and stone fruit. Quite floral once it gets to room temp. Good length. Not as linear as a typical Sancerre but still with medium + acid. Like a happy medium b/t Chablis and Sancerre. — 10 years ago
Really like this Merlot! Under $20 and very consistent. Columbia Valley shines again with a rounded taste, nothing out of place. Easy to drink with appetizers or a meal. Earth and fruit, balance throughout and nice finish. Just bought 6 more bottles to have on hand. — 10 years ago

1982 Vina Real Gran Reserva Rioja. Dinner w D&M H and B&K K at Woo. Excellent. Nice structure and still some fruit. Liked this more than the ‘82 Lopez de Heredia. — 8 years ago

1989 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo Nebbiolo. Dinner at Ner w B&K K. Poured out of decanter, but did not decant for any length of time. Classic Barolo. Lots of earth, graphite, smoke. — 9 years ago
2009 Pierre Yves Colin Morey Corton Charlemagne. Lunch at T house w B&ML M and L&M T. Such a treat! Nice minerality, not too much fruit. Excellent. — 10 years ago
1970 Vina Real Riserva Especial Tempranillo. Dinner at Ch Ven w J&L B and J&J D. Still had some fruit on the nose and a beautiful deep ruby color in the glass. Def glad to be drinking now. — 10 years ago
Magnum 1997 Dal Forno Romano Amarone dell Valpolicella. Drank at Reddwood lunch w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H. Third of the red lineup. Neither K nor I had tasted this before and it was delicious. Enormous and inky. It was just massive both in flavor and how it coated the mouth. Slight sweetness. Very cool to try! — 10 years ago

🍷 Garnet red w/ thick brick edge
👃 Soggy earth, mashed plum, baked spiced muted b/currant, liquorice, mocha & potpourri
👄 Med+ body of incredibly silky creamy smooth earthy mocha filled cherry, dark berry & plum w/ fine dry tannins still lurking
🎯 Long earthy dark chewy squished berry bang w/ a whack of mocha, liquorice & a drying touch — 9 years ago
True gold color, slightly cloudy; sour apple and leesy aromas much like a Berliner weisse; acidic and slightly bitter, w low alcohol and v light petulance and suddenly appearing yeasty finish. Chardonnay! Sauv b! Etc! — 10 years ago
1990 Bruno Giacosa Asilia Riserva Barbaresco. Drank w B&ML M at The R Casual Fri dinner. Got better after a while open and in the glass. More light and thin than we anticipated. Not S dimensional as we had hoped. Still some fruit and red brick. Hasn't necessarily peaked yet, but should drink now/in the next couple years. — 10 years ago
2007 Peter Michael Point Rouge Chardonnay. HB w MnD and J&D B. We loved this wine wine so much at the Heart concert and we loved it tonight. Floral, along with notes of buttery brioche and oak. However, somewhat surprisingly, as we drank this in comp to the 2013 Ridge Monte Bello Chardonnay, it did not win out. Still such a great wine that we really, really enjoyed. — 10 years ago
