The 09 still needs another 5 years to be all it can be. Even after an hour decant, it was better but it still needs time to resolve. The fruits are; blueberries, baked blackberry pie, black plum. There's some black licorice, a slight tar quality, dry crushed minerals and baking spices. The tannins are taunt and dry on the finish. — 10 years ago
Taunt and well structured white burgundy. Slight use of oak. Tight on the finish with slight mineral touch. — 11 years ago
A blaze of acid, easily delivers abundant, but now mature dark cherries and plums. Tobacco and forest floor quietly play bass in the background. A beautifully polished texture is supported by taunt tannins, which relax after an hour in the decanter. This is one Navarra's, and Spain's top wineries. PAGO certified. A definite buy recommendation! 👍🍷🍇 — 11 years ago
Its dark and smokey and full of black cherry, tobacco notes, layers and taunt, good oak. — 11 years ago
The fruited was sourced from a vineyard planted in 1882 by James Shaw, I think this qualifies for "old vine" status. Now this is how you make Zinfandel. Perfectly balanced fruit to acid ratio, fat on the palate, great textures and taunt tannins make this century plus a sheer delight to drink. Fine ground minerality, complemented by blackberry, licorice, spice and blue berries. A long and lasting finish! SRP $35 — 12 years ago
Dry, lean and rustic dark fruits, plum skins, blueberry, painted over taunt tannins. In the glass, pie sporting a crimson bowl. Loads of under brush and wild licorice. It's so good to a Shiraz showing some restraint, nicely done!

Taunt tannins and a blaze of acid paint a delicious picture of balance! Dried strawberrish and cherries quietly play bass, while underbrush and black currant play a bigger role. It's a lot of substance for a wine sold under $20. Needs an hour or more of decant, a low grade diamond in the rough! — 12 years ago
Great for cured meats! — 12 years ago

Behold, a whisper of pink - just enough to taunt - white flowers, flirty peach fuzz, jicama surprise, tangerine zest, dehydrated strawberry cool...and then there was this enchanting line from the back label, which references the Golden Mean and beauty, "which is pervasive throughout nature...drink well and sleep well." Namaste. Finished with tart melon and a Valentine's hug, Pinot style. — 11 years ago
If you'd a taste of true Saint Emilion style and class, this is your ticket to ride. From one of the more recent great #Bordeaux vintages, this bottle of Chateau Franc Mayne over delivers at the unassuming price of $45, you simply cannot get this quality from California in that same price range, a brilliant canvas of taunt tannins, painted w/ blackberries, dry earth, and ripe dark plums, and slightly dry taste of the skin. Decant an hour B4, it evolves w/ air. The finish is long and lasting. Purchased wine. — 12 years ago
Inama is making some seriously Delish Soave. Fuller bodied, perfumed tree fruit and great taunt acidity — 12 years ago
Pinot noir 2010-smooth finish -Maison Virginie-French — 14 years ago
Just the right amount of funk. Barnyard, pepper, earth on the nose. Subdued black fruit and spice on the palate. Taunt tannins — 10 years ago
I don't think I've had an example of this wine vinified by Virginie until now. In my humble opinion, quality is WAY UP now. Too many pre-2006 examples were mealy, oxidized and awkwardly alcoholic. I'm glad to see one of the world's most enviable vineyard sites skew toward quality rather than simply bio-d dogma (again -- humbly opining). — 10 years ago
Light, refreshing, perfect balance of acid. — 11 years ago
All the ingredients of a very good Chablis here, with assertive citrus notes, good taunt minerality and well pitched acid balance. Not as harmonious yet, perhaps, as it could be. Long savory finish. I'm thinking Kingfish. — 11 years ago
Complex Viognier, Chardonnay, and Roussanne blend. Taunt acidity, notes of nutmeg, butter, orange, and lemon. Long finish. — 12 years ago
Fantastic classic. In a really nice place where the lushness of the fruit is in line with good taunt acid — 12 years ago
Dark rich black fruit nose. Vanilla. Nicely lean taunt and herbaceous. Powerful tannins that really say hello on finish. $25 — 12 years ago
