(Blend of 80-85% Nebbiolo, Barbera and a little Cabernet sauvignon)
The rather dark color clearly sais it's no Nebbiolo, but a Barbera. However, the nose reminds me again of aged Nebbiolo, but also of gracefully aged Barbera, that gets in the direction of old Nebbiolo with age, in my perception. I let it "breathe" in a large glass for like 1-1.5 hours (Coravin & pour).
This 1998 has a still a lovely freshness and a soft tannic spine. I feel stewed mountain berries (frutti di bosco), ripe plums, a scent of cigar box, cranberries. The acidity is healthy with orange zests. The next glass will definitely get more air, as I feel that it will open up even more. — 8 years ago

Medicinal and savory, opening up to an almost Burgundian prettiness about two hours in. It didn’t last, but altogether fascinating (if not consistently pleasurable). — 8 years ago
Botte 47. Phenomenally complex and constantly evolving. Initially savory with some animal fur, toasty honey (aged semillon) notes, slight star fruit. Then it evolved into dried flowers, mushroom, and dark fruit - reminded me of a young Barolo. Then black tea, green tea. Then strong dried spearmint, honeyed toasty complexity like the '81 Lopez de Heredia. Medium bodied with slightly elevated sparkling acidity. Not intense, but persistent on the palate. To borrow a phrase from Veronelli- It burrowed into my memory. I hope it made me forever better. — 10 years ago
Rich and warm deliciousness! — 10 years ago
其實羊皮狼是有年份的,不是NV,2001年正適飲,成熟柔美的35歲,細緻的風味是智利風格的卡門內很難展現的,酸度很棒,略帶玻美侯感! — 11 years ago
I love this wine, sold through Times Wine Club. By coincidence by new-born girl is named Poppy. — 11 years ago
Attended a tasting a local shop with the winemaker. The weather was crappy but that ended up being lucky as not very many people showed up, so I got to talk to the producer about her wines for over an hour. This is a single vineyard production they don't make in every vintage. Blend is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Mammalo (a local grape I had never heard of). This is a complex and elegant wine with red fruit, violet, vanilla, and dark chocolate notes. Nice lingering finish. Will plan to stop here when I get to Tuscany! — 8 years ago
Really impressive the second day. Would try again and certainly decant the next bottle. With air loses baby fat and moves from boring cherry to much more interesting spice notes like cocoa and maybe nuts. Good acidity — 9 years ago
Doesn't taste like Cabernet or merlot! Soft! — 10 years ago
Number 7. Brick garnet. Red apple and pottery. Classic fizzy tingle on the tongue. Plus acidity; firm tannins. The thinking man's wine. You'll either love it or hate it. — 10 years ago
Concentrated raisin / currant -- wow. — 10 years ago
This is a lovely vino da tavola that's sexy, floral, juicy with a nice tannin grip, lovely acidity. A blend of Ruché & Barbera no clue of the vintage it says G20/2012/13 but then again I really don't care, I believe I got it from Thierry Puzelat last Easter. Anyway I love it, btw WHATS THE CHANCE YOU'LL GET AN "AVERAGE WINE" from Thierry...... '0' — 11 years ago

Dry Brachetto. Bright, easy drinking, very versatile. Pretty nose - strawberry, red cherry, roses . Reminded me of frappato — 6 years ago
