This wine is a blend of 32%Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 19% Petit Verdot. This comes to us from the Columbia Valley in Washington State. The nose is a bit tight. There is a little heat with alcohol, I am sure if I let it set for awhile the alcohol will blow off and it will start opening up. I am getting some smoke, licorice, and vegetal notes. On the palate is a good smooth velvety mouth feel. Definitely more of the vegetal notes and dark bing cherries with a long clean finish. This a very nice MareLow based wine good right now but will be good to lay down for another 5-10 years. — 12 years ago

Complex nose of earth, olives and red fruit . In the mouth a battle royale of flavors with none of them able to eliminate another. — 11 years ago

It was a battle royale in Saumur. All of these Chenins were great but both Guiberteau wines shined brighter than Rougeard.. Totally different styles for sure. The Rougeard was definitely a beautiful and unique wine. — 12 years ago

Reminiscent of Kir Royale with a little floral aroma - really opens up when decanted — 10 years ago
