Better on day 2. Solid Willamette Pinot but $50 price tag makes this a difficult re-buy. — 8 years ago
Delectable: this is the"Terres Roses" cuvée.
[These are night 2 notes]. Very pure nose of clear-eyed crunchy ripe Gamay fruit and loads of slightly-smoke inflected cracked granite minerality. Lively and pure in the mouth. Not as tough as many Moulin-a-Vents. Some very fine-grained tannin in the long refreshing finish. — 8 years ago
Beef stew. Dampness / leather on nose. Drinking really well with 22 years age. Maybe another 1-2 years. — 9 years ago

Bio Sparkling. Damn tasty. Not super expensive. A bit riper and not as much minerality but way fun. — 10 years ago
Dark and brooding but still easy to drink, this this Beaumes de Venise Cru shows the potential of the region. Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre, 14.5% ABV

Fresh blackberries, blueberry compote, bell pepper, pottery soil, iron, black peppercorns, mushrooms, pencil shavings. Rounded acid/muted narrow velvet tannin balance, medium bodied, lush silky texture, earthy, smoky-peppery finish. Dark aromatics, smooth and refined for days. — 9 years ago
2009. Wasn't crazy about this Day 1 but Day 2 entirely different story. Deep, dark intense on nose and palate. Could use more length but perhaps I'm asking for too much from 7-year-old Beaujo. — 9 years ago

Is geen Crèmant!! Maar de Pinot Blanc.
Ganzengors, euro 16.95.
Kleur; goudgeel
Geur; complex, abrikoos, bloemig, kruifig, iets van amandel
Smaak: vol en veel en rijk, met zachte zuren, volle smaak met iets van abrikoos, mandarijn, amandelbitter, toch ook fris. Erg lekker! — 10 years ago
Chardonnay, levures indigènes, filtré 2 microns... Un peu de gaz résiduel — 8 years ago
Damn fine Muscy in Paris! W/Oysters. But of course! — 8 years ago
A nice dry Riesling with refreshing acidity to match roundness of flavor — 8 years ago
Delectable: this is Visan Cotes du Rhone AOC.
These are night 2 notes.
This is an unusually tight Southern Rhone. Tight, and not particularly exuberant ripe kirschy-cherry notes, with lots of very clean cracked stone minerality and a nice lavender floral note. Very pure and linear cherry fruit and stony mineral flavors. Some very fine-grained tannin in the finish, together with crisp acids. This will be better in a year. In the meantime, give it air.
Night 3: more complete and integrated. Still fresh, but the fruit and minerals are fusing to create more weight in the midpalate. Bumping to 9.0. But let this age, or if not, breathe "bigly." — 9 years ago

Seriously, this incredible six plus year Pinot was just $25. Certified Biodynamic to boot. Smooth tannins and bright acidity. — 7 years ago
