Vieux Château Palon

Montagne-St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Solid, struuctured and dark. Muscular for a saint emillion but still true to form. — 10 years ago

Vieux Mas des Papes

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2003

2003- Don't be afraid of the vintage :) 80 Grenache knit beautifully w/ 20 Mourvedre. This was the precursor to VT's "Telegramme" bottling. Dark fruit & pronounced black pepper w/ a secondary savory/umami note. — 10 years ago

Guigal makes well priced wines which show off the various appellations well. St Cosme too. Any Kermit Lynch imports. The Perrin family. In the Northern Rhone, Crozes-Hermitage & St Joseph are good appellations to start with as you can find great wines which are well priced. In the South, Cotes du Rhone & the various villages, Vacqueyras, Lirac, Corbieres, Ventoux. Gigondas will show more structured wines in the South.

Eventually work your way to Cote Rotie, CDP & Hermitage & weep for your wallet. :)
