Viansa Sonoma County Barbera

M ruby. Black cherry and berry. Mushroom and baking spice. Violet. Great nose that has more umami then fruit. M acid and body. M- tannin. The wine still has good structure with a M finish. Nicely balanced. Honestly did not think the bottle could age this long. β€” 8 years ago

Season's Greetings California Chardonnay

Okay this is funny. I got this bottle of wine from my boss, who doesn't drink wine, at Christmas. I don't normally drink white wine so I decided to cook with it! I did taste it and it was okay but it really tastes good cooked into my pasta! β€” 8 years ago

Signature Series Angel Camp Pinot Noir 2010

Consumed 04/2016. I received this in a shipment sometime in 2012. The notes say that it's delicate with Cherry and Berry fruit on the nose and subtle layers of red cherry, strawberry, and lavender flavors; to be enjoyed and it's you and over the next five years. It also says it's a wonderful match with pork with apple stuffing, mushroom risotto, Coq au Vin, duck with mushrooms and Havarti cheese. The price back then was $67. β€” 8 years ago

Pacomio Aleatico

Consumed 06/2016. Pierina Means "made of stone" which is an apt name for a wine made from the Vernaccia grape. Vernaccia is native to the hills surrounding San Gimignano in Tuscany, where it is typically crafted to display flinty, almost mineral flavors. As the only producer of Vernaccia in the United States, Viansa has chosen to take this greap in a different direction. The result is a more multi-dimensional, fruity style of wine that still stays true to its origins. 'Pierina' Vernaccia is an absolutely wonderful wine crafted entirely from estate grown Carneros grapes. β€” 8 years ago

Augusto Sonoma Valley Barbera

Consumed May 2015. Received 10/2008 from Viansa. Tinting flavors of ripe plums and BlackBerries with a long lush finish. This wine is a blend of 88% Barbera, 6% Primitivo, 4% Teroldego and 2% Tempranillo. This big, juicy wine goes wonderful with barbecue fair, grilled pork tenderloin or lasagna, but is also wonderful by it's self. It has soft tannins and a long, smooth finish. A full-bodied wine that is best when decanted. On the nose, dried flowers and wild berries. On the palate, ripe plums, spices and BlackBerries. $42 retail. β€” 8 years ago

Sonoma Valley Dolcetto 2013

Delivered to my door in PA today. We don't get wine delivery in my state so it was a monumental moment. At any rate, this 2013 beauty is going down nicely with the arrival of our first snowstorm of the season. #blizzard2016hottubwine β€” 8 years ago
