Tension, purity, verve and filigree come to mind here and can only take the mind to one place for Chardonnay: Chablis. OK so now the mind is set in Chablis with style but then we take a different take on the finish that was crazy long and pure, dry extract on full display here as this hummed along nicely to the finish. Another amazing Chardonnay from Jim Law at Linden. — 9 years ago
Mineral texture and good acidity and verve. So good. — 10 years ago
2012 vintage. Tart, juicy red plums and red currant on the nose with what I determine to be a candied pomegranate quality. It's sweet and has a sheen at the same time. The palate has a zesty acidity with elevated alcohol and some firm tannins. A well done grenache that shows vibrancy and verve. — 10 years ago
The verve and zest is off the charts. — 10 years ago
2009: quite dense appearance; ripe black / red fruit w a faint touch of horse hair (Brett ); generously proportioned attack of ripe red and black fruit, leads onto medium weight palate which finishes fruitfully but without the verve of a "classic" vintage. A satisfying and quite delicious drink without being memorable. A lot of 09 burgundies would fit these descriptors. — 10 years ago
Ripe, vibrant, big texture, verve — 12 years ago
Racy with plenty of verve despite age. Some caramel / oxidation coming through with honey-petrol richness. — 8 years ago
Mr. Aylward, you've outdone yourself, keep up the fantastic work. — 9 years ago
Another paradoxical wine: such broad and deep flavors but a concise little package. Great stuff, gamey red fruit with poise and verve. — 10 years ago
Terrific spot for this. Still so much verve and definition, but with great development. Really lovely. #kogodwinemerchant — 10 years ago
The palate is full of lively verve. Lemon lime high acidity. What seemed at first to be notes of hazelnut actually blew off. In fact I mistook these notes. The wine seems to be rather reduced. Color is light gold/dark lemon. Went well with roast pork. — 10 years ago
Just coming into its own now, but as a lover of Chablis and Chardonnay with verve this is awesome right now. White peach and stone fruit, subtle oak and malo allowing the fruit to make the statement and the mineral backbone drive it home. Classy. — 8 years ago
BevMo Burgundy. Lots of gloss and sheen, but also some funk and verve. Ripe fruit on the nose, +tannin, and just teetering on the line of vegetal. More fun than it ought to be for young Burgundy, and better than it ought to be at $29.99. Would cop again. — 8 years ago
Savory and games in nose and mouth with great liveliness and verve after 11 years. Balanced and screaming for duck, venison or chanterelle risotto. Brilliant! — 9 years ago
2009 vintage. Candied tangerines, honeycomb, honeysuckle, dried apricot, poached pear, super concentrated but with a strong verve of acidity. Super delicious! — 10 years ago
Excellent stuff, young but lively, full of energy and verve. Little bit of caramel and lots of fruit still. Oak well integrated and gave it weight. Really good stuff from Niellon — 10 years ago
Beautifully aged. Round citrus notes, chalk, candied pineapple on the nose. A lovely mouthful of briny, citrus-y salty goodness, brimming with acidity and verve. Top class. — 11 years ago
Yum! Stony and verve-vacious — 11 years ago
Great verve. — 12 years ago

Lovely nose with chalk, lemon, apricot and a saline, marine aspect, like the inside of a seashell. Palate is focused and beautifully delineated, with great length and verve. — 8 years ago
