No orange rim in the glas. The wine is dark red with a slight sign of its age. Leather on the nose, red fruits too. Tobacco, spice. The palate is phenomenal. Multidimensional. Long with an acid frame that goes for ever. Wide with fully integrated tannins made of velvet. Strawberry, blackberry, black currant. Deep garnet with amber rims, almost opaque. A little darker compared to the 82 CB next to it. Great old Bordeaux nose. Black fruit, pencil lead, plus some light notes of wood. Chewy in the mouth at first but over the night this goes to a velvet and silky place. The WOTN for me. Quieted down at the end of the night but gave us huge enjoyment, clearly outshining the 47 and 82 served with it. Tasting all these blind and then side by side over 4 hours is pretty awesome. — 8 years ago

Excellent acid/smooth velvet tannin balance, juicy/silky texture, deceptively full bodied, long smoky/herbal slightly peppery finish.
