Smooth... Buttery finish. Full bodied flavor, but not overwhelming — 5 years ago
Yummy. Would drink again. Great for a glass. — 6 years ago
One of my favorites, smooth and full bodied, off dry — 7 years ago
Fantastic Australian Shiraz. Huge bodied and high alcohol with smooth tannins. Big presence of, vanilla, dark chocolate, plum and liquorice. Sweet notes with well balanced flavours. This wine is almost like a red velvet cake in a glass. — 8 years ago
Oaky, but not too much, very full flavor with a velvet finish. A little bit of pecan, and a tart cherry flavor. VERY good. — 8 years ago
Ooh la la! Fantastic crisp apple-pear fruit laced with a streak of minerality and beautiful richness and length. Lovely now and sould last another 5+ years. — 9 years ago
Dark sweet rich plummy black cherry aromas, a dense mouth filling velvet texted wine, very showy and feminine, dark red fruits, new leather, wet earthy appeal. Feminine texture with manly character. Big brawny yet very fruit forward and smooth, a crowd please with long life ahead. — 9 years ago

Very smooth with lots of berry. Good table wine for dinner — 6 years ago
Deep garnet with amber rims, almost opaque. A little darker compared to the 82 CB next to it. Great old Bordeaux nose. Black fruit, pencil lead, plus some light notes of wood. Chewy in the mouth at first but over the night this goes to a velvet and silky place. The WOTN for me. Quieted down at the end of the night but gave us huge enjoyment, clearly outshining the 47 and 82 served with it. Tasting all these blind and then side by side over 4 hours is pretty awesome. — 7 years ago
1982 Chateau Lafite Rothschild Bordeaux. Drank at dinner with K and R&M S at The Grill. Bottle was perfect. Such an amazing treat and a nice contrast to the 1989 Musigny Burgundy. More earth and gravel than the burgundy. Beautiful finish and velvet tannins. Awesome — 9 years ago
Clearly one of my favourites from Bordeaux. A very under rated vintage under the shadow of 2000's. Iron fist in a velvet glove is what I think of this lovely wine. Spherical, sexy and very serious.18,5 ++/20 — 11 years ago
Last night in MT at the lake. Gave this several hours of air. Nice dark tawny color. Vibrant in the glass. The nose is great right away and stayed on point through the evening. Notes of black cherries, warm raspberries, old cedar, some plums and a little leather saddle. Rich and silky in the mouth. Velvet glove. Long finish. Great wine. — 5 years ago
Love ChP when it’s got some age on it. (1998) Totally different beast and this was spicy velvet. — 6 years ago
Young. But Damn. Blackberry, velvet, leather, smooth. — 6 years ago
This may be the smoothest Hermitage I've had @ £83 it's like a pig rolling in velvet 🐷 so smooooth 😍 Great now but 97+ over next 5-20yrs 😎
🍷 Ruby w/ purple hue
👃 Cloves, Olives, thyme & piggy 💩 through blackberry w/ touch of liquorice & minerals
👄 Med+ body incredibly super smooth olive tapenade, blackberry & dark cherry - surprisingly well balanced @ this age 👍

I’m not sure if it’s the age, but the balance of this ‘83 is quite amazing. The fruit may be slight past it’s prime but it’s kind of like drinking velvet, if velvet was a liquid. There’s a tiny bite at the end that’s a bit surprising. — 5 years ago
