Local Nebbiolo variant from far-northern Piedmont in the Val d’Ossola. Medium bodied, not very tannic, light acid, dried flowers, cherry, thyme, tart cola. From Flatiron Wines. — 8 years ago
Absolutely fantastic, classic warmer climate Tempranillo. Eleven years old and still kicking. Drunk and enjoyed with, gasp, a variant of an Italian dish called Cacciatore - chicken, squash, courgette, mushrooms, tomatoes, and red wine sauce. — 9 years ago
Fresh fruit and light tannins.
Crispy and easy to drink.
Nicely combined with puntarelle alla romana (variant of chicory) and anchovies.
It's easy to open a second one.
To enjoy daily — 9 years ago
Apricots, melon (cantaloupe), sparkling variant is interesting and has distinct Co2/mineral bite. One of my favorite rosés. — 10 years ago
2014 rum barrel aged variant. 18.9% alc!!! This is big, sweet and boozy. Dessert beer for sure. It has complexity, but not on the level of the bourbon barrel aged original. Still has more balance than just about any beer in this alcohol range and it's a pleasure to drink. Will be better with some age. — 10 years ago
2010. Predominantly the Grenache variant cannonau from Sardinia. Soft, balanced and very pleasant. Good value — 11 years ago
A port variant, but not overly sweet. I really like this. — 11 years ago
Smoky campfire nose with hints of cherries tobacco and green bell pepper. Drinks like a zin from Paso Robles. Tobacco and ripe cherry in a fruit forward mouth. Delish. — 7 years ago
Great wine, however not that different from its less expensive variant (temperanillo)

Fruity, complex, smooth tannins, and a touch of acidity all suggest it will be drinking well for several years. Went very well with a BBQ variant of Vitello tonnato, based around rump steak. — 8 years ago
Great smooth and light fruity finish. Goes well with Steelhead trout.. — 9 years ago
— 9 years ago
A bit early to tell it's whole story, but incredibly expressive. Crushed slate, orange marmalade, and this is where it gets weird, but I swear it's accurate...pencil erasers, party baloons, minerality so high, it could be pop-rocks. Finish is medium plus, and cleanly with some slight chalky notes and petrol. Wish it would hold longer on the acidity. Overall, an incredible value, for the triple Hamilton's, you get quite an experience. It's no Donnhoff or Prum, yet still a wonderfully variant showing. — 10 years ago
Round soft muted variant of a Flemish red. — 10 years ago
Another flavorful Mead of the lesser sweet variant. I rate this on the same level of greatness as the SkyRiver Mead, although this one is a little bit more dry. It gives it an almost beer like property, though it's still rich and smooth like a wine should be. — 11 years ago
Nice Tempranillo, more complex and less fruity than the usual Spanish variant. Well balanced, moderate on tannins. — 7 years ago
— 9 years ago
Awesome red a blue fruits. Super juicy and tart. This is an awesome Gamay variant. Love it. — 9 years ago
@delectable this is the single varietal bottling of terrano, not the blend.
Probably the only rofosco (or variant of) that I've ever liked. Deep purple fruit, juicy and earthy and fresh with good acid structure. Great summer wine with just a touch of chill. — 9 years ago
1971: Very fresh bottle, originally purchased from RWC, served by Quince to pair with white truffle menu. Exhibiting a youthful variant of maturity, perfect to experience now. Cherry fruit at center, with tar and spice in the background. When Borgogno bottles have been well maintained, they provide as much pleasure as any. — 9 years ago
100% CH of which 80% is a variant calked Chardonnay Musque from the Savoie, planted in 1947. 109% oaked fermented. 7 years spent on lees. Low dosage (3-4 g/L). What a lovely wine...full, generous and fresh. Everything is here already but needs to takes its place. Promising future. Melting fruit and texture on the palate. Good energy throughout. — 10 years ago
Again, not the best vintage but this 'premium' variant of ridgeview is a big celebratory sparkling wine. — 12 years ago

Raspberry variant of a common polish dessert wine. Really sweet as expected with a good raspberry finish. Does not appear to be fake. — 7 years ago
