Pretty solid. Very nice blend. Very decent daily drinking. — 9 years ago
Delicious. Dark, syrupy but fruity. — 10 years ago
Eben Sadie, King of South African Syrah, actually is a genius with every varietal he works with. From Syrah, Grenache, Chenin Blanc, and even this, 100% old vine Cinsault, raised in concrete and stainless steel, this wine is pure, vibrant, spicy and fresh with great depth in its pretty bouquet of wild strawberries, dark , stemmy fruit and minerals. A unique wine that can certainly age yet is absolutely delicious now. A fine, fine representation of single varietal Cinsault made by a great winemaker at the height of his craft. — 10 years ago
We let it decant for about an hour. This is a go to that works well on its own or with food. — 11 years ago
Surprisingly light and fruity. Works well with wide variety of food. — 11 years ago
Initial Big upfront with a bold almost harsh explosion of tannins that mellows quickly. ( we did decant this wine) but the second taste ( with lasagna) was softer with a complex changing taste that fades quickly. — 12 years ago
Very nice balance with a smooth finish. Not too bold. Would pair with a variety of foods. Would drink again — 12 years ago
Lot of maracuya and litchi aromas and very crisp acidity. Perfectly fresh for the season. Nicely paired with grouper fish over ratatouille. — 13 years ago
Krug Grande Cuvée in Double Magnum. Harry's Bar. 2004 base wine edition. Another great effort from the House of Krug. Toasty and elegant, fine bubbles, with a deepness to it that few champagnes can offer. Not at the level of the 2002 base as of yet, but delicious none the less. Acidity is balanced and works perfectly to enhance the aromas and overall long finish. Excellent as usual. I would probably hold for another 5-7 years before opening another large format from this edition. — 9 years ago
Full bodied, coco and berry flavor — 10 years ago
2014 vintage. Apricot, white peach, guava, pineapple skin, yellow pear, honeysuckle, honey, white rocks, straw. Good value Mosel Riesling. — 10 years ago
Nutty, orange rind, and chocolate. M+ acid and M sweetness. M+ intensity. On the palate, raisin, dried fruit, cherry, caramel and orange. Long finish. — 10 years ago
Super delicious and well balanced, lightly carbonated fall in love with mead — 11 years ago
I'm enjoying Gamay quite a bit.
The balance of fruit and acidity, plus the earthiness make it a great daily drinker.
Works with just about anything when it comes to food. — 11 years ago
If you happen to have magret of duck lying around and perhaps serve it with duck fat fried potatoes, and maybe a side of Brussels sprouts, this works quite well despite its youth. Great QPR in cooler vintages. Honest earth-driven Willamette Pinot Noir. Re-buy? Hell yeah! — 11 years ago
Thank you, Vadim! — 13 years ago
Works with Chinese food! — 9 years ago
My notes from three pours using the Coravin were very consistent. It works! The wine was still superb, actually with a little age now, even better than my original notes. Deep ruby red with focused aromas of black fruit, herbs and spice. The palate is focused, with fresh flavors of sweet ripe dark fruit, mostly plum, blackberry and black cherry, with complex oak, leather and chocolate. The wine is well balanced, tannins continuing to develop nicely, slightly savory, finishing with sweet vanilla oak notes. — 10 years ago
Scents of raisin, sumac, and alcohol, accented with date, fig, and raisin flavors. The high alcohol content makes it a bit hot to taste -- and sounds off-putting, but this wine works. Really well. The per bottle price at Zaytinya reflects a 3x markup, which is fair enough, but I'd buy this over and over again at $53 to have at home with a Mediterranean themed meal. — 10 years ago
2013 and paired well with our dinner, but good all on its own. — 11 years ago
Sherry grape and Muscat. Odd blend but works remarkably well. Floral notes from Muscat and balanced acidity — 11 years ago
A full, robust wine that hits your tastebuds in just the right way...not too overwhelming. Pairing it with beef stew - works well! — 11 years ago
