This local vineyard wine (out of Da Boonies, Murylund) is a new favorite! With 12% alc/volume it has a sweet taste of honey but not overly sweet and a crisp like a Granny Smith apple. — 6 years ago
Dark aromas of black olive tapenade, wet earth, black plum, black cherries and cracked pepper. Bright, juicy and peppery on the palate. Juicy flavors of cherries, black plum and pomegranate lead to notes of black pepper, oak, and spice layered with bright acidity. The finish is long and spicy with touches of earth and black fruits. Excellent paring with sausage risotto. — 8 years ago
smells of violets, cinnamon spice, peeled twig, cranberry, licorice, some candied cherry.
this was light and smoky-tea leaf in the mouth- a little vegetal- very tasty. — 9 years ago
2015 Chardonnay Reserve
First vineyard we have ever visited or tasted from in Maryland. Came highly recommended by a coworker and we highly recommend them too!
Mel gave us a glass of this Reserve Chardonnay while we walked around the vineyard, bottling truck and private cellar. Beautiful pale yellow gold, very clear. Very refreshing from the get go, even just from the nose. Lots of white fruits, stone fruits, citrus and some honeysuckle too as it warmed up. Lovely palate, with an attack of citrus fruits and green apples. Smooth, refreshing and crisp. No hard edges and no butter. Moderate acidity (6/10) with a medium body. Long and lingering finish. Perfect for the hot day! Drink till 2020. — 9 years ago
More sour than other domestic Goses, but refreshing with a nice yeastiness to it. The omission or minimal use of coriander was a welcome surprise. — 9 years ago
Cloudy, unfiltered pet nat—kind of a creamsicle pinky orange. Dry. Funky. Notes of strawberry and hay. Great with tacos. A super interesting nat pat. Need another bottle — 5 years ago
Third vintage and still probably the best white Boordy now makes. A beautiful, fresh nose of apricot and peach and just a touch of fresh grass. The palate is lush and juicy fresh out of the bottle with rich, dry acidity. Juicy flavors of apple, peach and melon followed by very dry herbal tones and a touch of stone. The finish is long dry and juicy at the same time. Really pretty. — 6 years ago
First red from Black Ankle. Garnet red with a dark core. Slightly stinky attack on the nose followed by some dark cocoa and nutmeg. Undertones of dark fruits. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) with a medium body. Dark cocoa and cherries on the palate with some good acidity and backbone. Long slightly dry finish. Drink till 2019. Very interesting Label actually says 11/12/13. — 9 years ago
Fairly sweet, lovely complex flavor — 9 years ago
Has an amazing flavor... Little bit of spice to really finish it off — 9 years ago
Starts sweet but finishes nicely. Perfect summer wine! — 6 years ago
About 125ml lost from a Pet Nat doing what a Pet Nat does. The nose is a little interesting. Refried beans and Meyer lemon. Some weediness. Entry however is all lemon and even a bit of plantain and some herb. Middle and finish bitters out a bit. Bubbles make it interesting but don't overdo it. Pleasant crisp aftertaste. This is a poolside pounder! — 6 years ago
Very sweet wine, with serious fruit forward flavor. Definitely can taste the mango. Its crisp, with a slight tartness at the finish. — 8 years ago
Another terrific Viognier vintage from OWW. I love the fruits that come out on the palate! Quince, white peach, apricot, and orange marmalade are finished by a dose of fresh chili pepper. Mineral nose and pleasant aromatics round this out. Drink over the next two years. — 9 years ago
Last red from Black Ankle. Ruby red with a purplish hue. Nose had some savory notes and a little stinky. Undertones of greenery and slightly vegetal. Attack was coated with dark fruits and a savory backbone. A little bit of vegetal notes too. Moderate tannins (6/10) with a moderate body. Very complex, rounded and enjoyable. Long and lingering finish. Very hard to decide which of their reds are the best. Drink till 2024. — 9 years ago
Deep, smoky, earthy nose. Aromas of plum, black pepper, black olive, cocoa powder, tar and dried herbs. Surprisingly young and fresh on the palate. Flavors of black cherries and plums lead to dark flavors of dusty, dried herbs, earth and a touch of tar balanced by striking acidity. The finish is long and smooth with just a hint of spice and drying tannins. Reminiscent of a wonderful Tuscan red. — 9 years ago

My favorite wine from a can. Pours a bright golden orange. Spectacular color. Nose is vanilla, orange rind. Pours with some fresh bubbles but not to the point of sparkling wine. Taste is creamsicle, with sour candy, fresh fruit, leather. Finish is astringent, sawdust, orange rind. — 5 years ago
