Lean high acid Napa Chardonnay. Fruit is from Truchard in Carneros. — 8 years ago
Wrong wine two days in a row! This is Cabernet Sauvignon, NOT their red blend. When will Delectable allow us to correct these errors? anyway, This offers deep, rich, intense, bittersweet chocolate and tart black cherries paired with prominent oak and tannins make this a good value for lovers of big wines. JaM (John and Michelle Truchard) Cellars, $19. Had by the glass at Norman Rose in Napa. — 9 years ago
Pinot grapes from Truchard Vineyards. Wonderful full-bodied Pinot with concentrated fruits, long finish, and great legs. Yum! — 9 years ago
Pregaming for Thanksgiving. Never had this grape before by itself...big fan. — 9 years ago
This was an excellent wine with homemade pizza (prosciutto, basil and mozzarella on homemade, Going Solo in the Kitchen crust). Perfect for a relaxing night at home. — 11 years ago

We drank the 1980 Chateau Montalena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon with the 1980 Carneros Creek Turnbull/Fay Cab & Truchard Cabs. All three showing very well. All three acquired at release. The Montalena is very nice. It needed 15-20+ minutes to show its best. Great cherry, raspberry fruit. Perfectly mature now. Will hold for a couple years but peaking now. Enjoy if you have any of the wine. — 7 years ago

Big and bold. Smells like dirt and coffee. Leaves your mouth dry and wanting more. — 9 years ago
Big, full blackberry aromas. Gentile and earthy on the palate. Lush fruit including dark berries and plums framed but gentile acidity. Long, smooth finish. — 9 years ago

The 1980 Carneros Creek Cabernet Sauvignon from the Truchard Vineyard located in the Carneros is drinking beautifully! Great depth of cherry and cassis in the nose. Packed with fruit on the palate. Long fruit finish with firm tannins. Drinks well now but will hold for another 5+ years. Great wine! — 7 years ago

Earthy and full with wonderful cherry flavor. One of the best pinots I have had. — 9 years ago
Solid - a little smoother and berryish for a Pinot - simply gorgeous. Second bottle was a little tart and young - I want a repeat of the first version — 9 years ago

Purchased on release and cellared. With some beautiful bricking on the edge, this showcased some smokey, dusky black fruit with great restraint and full acid. Wish I had held more back. — 7 years ago
