It's Kerner so it's aromatic. But there is also a nice minerality to this wine. Aged 'sur lie' for six minths. A joy to drink. Note to self: Kerner is a crossing between Trollinger and Riesling. Crossed by researcher August Herold. So why is it called Kerner? It is named after 19th century German poet Justinus Kerner, who -apparently- wrote a lot about wine. — 9 years ago
2013 smells like a melon patch, wildly aromatic. Kerner is a varietal cross of schiava(trollinger) & Riesling. Grown on alto adige. — 10 years ago

Fun little number with red berries, spice, hints of something vegetal. Popped when I opened it and drinks pretty spritzy but that's pretty fun and there's no real tannin there to fight it. — 9 years ago

Family wine. Therefore a superior rating since I understand the work involved in making this nectar!! — 10 years ago

Heavy plum on the nose (like Caymus). Smooth finish with hints of spice and pepper that warms you on its way down. Light, a good representation of German wines — 9 years ago

From feli's grandfather's vineyard. Super light, a bit jazzy, and very drinkable with a heavy German meal. — 10 years ago

A thoughtful rather powerful Pinot Noir Rosé (20% Trollinger, too), pale orange in color, redolent of grapefruit skin & yellow rose on the nose, with some heft, as I've got 2014 here in August '16, emerging in the weight. Not a frisky rosé, reflecting Schnaitmann's serious & head-turning Württemberg Pinot Noirs. — 9 years ago
