Very good wine — 8 years ago
Wonderful example of classic, balanced California cab. Just say no to high alcohol fruit bombs. Intense yet delicate and profound. Served with perfectly BBQ tri tip. Yum! — 8 years ago
Drank 2014 on 2/5/17. It was decanted for 2 hours. Great jammy fruit and crème caramel on the nose. The family all enjoyed it (after watching Super Bowl ) with BBQ tri-tip. — 9 years ago
127 year old vines, a serious wine with pepper red fruits tons of savory components. A ton of structure. — 9 years ago
I rarely drink zin because I tend to find them too alcoholic and sweet to pair with food. Loved this one, very toned down not too rich from high alcohol (only 13.3%) and I might even say elegant in style. Perfect pairing with the tri tip I made for tonight's dinner. Okay so if zinfandels could all be like this I might start drinking them again. — 9 years ago
This is very smooth. Served with tri-tip. Can you say magical? — 10 years ago
Interesting flavors. Kind of olive like. Crazy mouthfeel. Sweet and delicious — 11 years ago
Blackberries, dark cherries, vanilla — 12 years ago
Excellent pairing with our grilled Tri-Tip and Verdure. A little tight at first but after half hour she opens up and sings in the glass. — 8 years ago
This wine is completely dark, in color, aromas and taste. On the nose, loads of big, black, burly, brambly fruit, with a healthy dollop of smoky sage and what I can only call burnt cinnamon. The palate offers brawn and blackberries paving a roadway for licorice and spice. Pair it with anything off the grill, especially tri-tip or rib eye. — 8 years ago

Nice. Pulled it out to share with the wife and daughter over a nice tri-tip. The Mrs. & I loved it. Peppery and smooth with a bit of tannin left. Should be great for a few more years. — 9 years ago
2005 purchased at the chateau. Medium bodied but with a nice long somewhat floral finish. Unusual for a St Esteph, which usually has a more earthy profile. Medium tannins and medium bodied. Not quite enough oomph to stand up to the barbecued tri-tip we had but very nice. — 9 years ago

Cab pairs with Tri tip — 13 years ago
Knowing that my Williams selyem shipment is around the corner, I thought I'd open this 14 up with family and friends. Took an hour to fully emerge but when it did we found classic sonoma county Pinot. Lovely wine and perfect with BBQ tri tip (Santa Maria style) — 8 years ago
Delicious, smooth great representative of Haut-Médoc. Went great with Burgundy wine tri tip. — 8 years ago

Amazing with Santa Maria tri tip — 8 years ago
One of our very favorite red wine blends. Lots of dark red fruit flavors with plum boysenberry raisin noticeable. Should pair well with Tri tip off the grill. — 9 years ago
Ruby going garnet. Burnt black cherry, mushroom, bell pepper and mint on the nose - hint of ethyl acetate. Silky mouthfeel, fine, well-integrated tannins, flavors of dark fruit, cedar and forest floor. Bracing white pepper after it opens up a bit. Exceptionally balanced. Perfect with grilled tri-tip and roasted potatoes. Left-banky, reminds me of a nice St. Julien - oceans are oceans! Bravo Paso Robles. — 9 years ago
Great as always even with Tri tip...well done @Scott Schultz The best domestic Pinot Gris I have ever had rich bright creamy and complex. — 10 years ago
Made by the great randy Dunn the grapes for this wine are sourced from the wahluke slope and tri cities this wine is a more elegant style of Cabernet Sauvignon and even has a bit of Brett medicinal cigar box spice and some herbs and milk chocolate notes. A very fresh and elegant wine with currant and plum fruit with some of that cigar box spice and fresh earth. Finish 45+ most excellent — 11 years ago

Love Black Stallion. Great cab went extremely well with a tri-tip steak. One of my favorite all time cabs. Great finish, fruity, but still bold — 7 years ago
