Valdo was started in 1926 by the Societa Anonima Vini Superiori and purchased by The Bolla Family in the 1940's. Straw yellow with fruit and floral aromas. Small bubbles with peach and ripe apple fruit tastes, nice balance between fruit and crispness. Nice value. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago
An exemplary Chianti. Exhibits all the things the Sangiovese grape can bring to a wine when properly handled. Nice cherry on the nose. Cherry, raspberry and some oak infused complexity. A straightforward Chianti that doesn't pretend to be anything else, but showcases the characteristics of a Tuscan Sangiovese. Smooth drinking with a bit of tartness on the finish. — 10 years ago
Wonderfully refreshing sparkling porch pounder for those 100 degree days! Wild yeast fermentation gives it a bit of enjoyable funkiness! — 5 years ago
A Big surprise, color dark red, nose tension/heat, berries, taste is delicious with a very balanced acid/tannic finish, a thrill. — 6 years ago

Interesting and delicious! Not Etna and so very little minerality. Dried currants and prunes, dark leather, some smoke, old-growth hardwood, minimal tannins, decent acids. From Flatiron Wines. — 7 years ago
