Very deep purple color with ruby hues. On the nose: a bit of minerals, dark red fruit jam and pepper. Taste: medium tannins, a bit dry with hints of dried black cherries, plum and cracked black pepper. Good value. — 7 years ago

Welcome to Dr Todd's Wine Bar once again. Tonight we are tasting Elizabeth and Clarke Swanson's 2002 Alexis from Oakville Estates in Napa Valley. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The cork has a 3mm ring that is well defined. The legs are 4 seconds. The boquet is that of ripe plums. the initial palate is blackberry currant. There is no tanic boquet or taste. The finish is minimally dry, spicy and tantelizing tonthe roof of the mouth. The middle edges of the toungue are tingling. This is very very very good wine!!! I will try and contact the wine makers and order a case of this beautiful wine! Its most likely not available... — 9 years ago

Sweet and cinnamon spice, with that oak note. — 8 years ago
I'm so fortunate to drink my third G-Max this year. This 2012 is still a Baby. Very withdrawn but still so much elegance & finesse. Wonderful ripe acidity and a finish that last forever. Let it sleep for 10-15 years and it will blow the f***ing roof off! — 8 years ago
Just as I remember from visiting the winery. Yum! — 8 years ago
Super easy drinking. Refreshing. Typical California style. Vanilla popcorn lemon 🍋.
And best part yet? It's out of a can! — 9 years ago
The cork came right out. It had a 5mm absorption line. The color is dark purple. The legs are fast - 3 seconds. The boquet is coffee beans and a slight tannic blueberry sharpness. The initial palate is chocolate, coffee, and immature blueberries. The finish is dry and affects the roof of the mouth and lips rather than the tongue. This is a good house wine!

If you enjoy a dry cider this is one to try. Ever so slightly hoppy, in a refreshing way. A great can of apple juice for a train ride from San Francisco. — 8 years ago
Cedar, black olive tapenade, plum, spice, herbs/lavender and chalk on the nose. Med tannin, vanilla, olive, pretty herbs, menthol/eucalyptus and tar on the palate, with a bit of sawdust on the finish. Young, I know, but still fun. — 9 years ago

Translucent light ruby color with earthy red fruit and savory spice aromas. On the palate it's fresh, focused and harmonious with a silky texture and cherry, dried strawberry, pomegranate, cola and spice flavors. Long delicious savory finish. — 7 years ago
