I tasted the exactly same wine at the same tasting one year ago and now the edges are getting rounder, the fruit is slowly developing, still lots of herb components mixed with tons of minerals left. I always love the super high but ripe acidity, Theresa Breuer manages to integrate into her Flagship. A still young Schlossberg with tons of potential left. In 5-10 years this could get a real Superstar. — 9 years ago
Catalonia Spain
Surdyk's Staff Selection (Noelle Starr): The non-vintage Brut Reserve, made from indigenous Spanish grapes, undergoes second fermentation in the bottle, is aged for 15 months, and is a fantastic value – even at full price. Aromatic and elegant, there are notes of citrus, Asian pear, hints of flower and a touch of biscuit. The finish is dry and refreshing. Thoughts: start by using a regular wine glas, as a bigger bowl helps bring the aromatics front and center. Pair with anything salty (potato chips), creamy (brie smeared on a fresh baguette), or crunchy (fried chicken is especially good.) Pairs wonderfully with Blue Earth, a delicious brie-style cheese from Mankato, MN

Violetta's Post-Ryan gift from Theresa — 13 years ago
Surdyks Staff Selection (Noelle Star). Stellenbosch, South Africa 2014. "Overgaauw is one of South Africa’s pioneer wine estates. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%) that shows concentrated berry aromas and flavors. Not jammy or sweet. The supporting notes of violet, cocoa powder, a definite mineral presence along with a hint of espresso bring balance, and the mouth-coating texture and serious structure make this a wine worthy of a higher price tag than it possesses. Perfect for just about anything on your dinner menu, but incredibly delicious with an aged Cheddar – especially in the form of homemade mac-and-cheese."
Great with spicy brown-sugar glazed grilled salmon. — 9 years ago

Found this gem on Last Bottle! Visited the winery last week. I love their Pinots! Best in Sonoma/Napa if you ask me :) their Chards are excellent as well! Gorgeous winery and super informative tour with Clair. We met Theresa the wine maker too! Put it on your list! — 10 years ago
Mountain vineyard wine with aromas of molasses and sassafras & cherry. Pairs well with a hearty winter soup or meat ❤️
