If you're in the Ojai/Ventura area, stop by Vino V Vineyards. They have some good wines at great prices. You can check out the working farm next door. Pretty cool; off the beaten path, hidden gem. — 11 years ago
It's hard to believe the Jules Desjourneys 2009 is a Beaujolais, such is the concentration and depth of this Moulin À Vent. The fruit is not so unusual, a generous dollop of wild strawberries and pie cherries, but then it veers sharply off the sunlit path, into a thicket of scrub and undergrowth, wet decaying leaves and stony brook, only emerge once more with violets, lilacs and sandalwood. Nicely developed, with fine fore-to-mid palate tannins, it's drinking beautifully now and has the potential to last. — 9 years ago
