Dark scarlet color with translucent light reddish rims. Old wine nose. Notes of black and red fruit, gravel, barnyard floor, old leather and some old desk wood. Fruit is a bit faded but this has plenty of life with decent acidity and a nice structure. Got better with air and opened up nicely. Better than the last bottle of this lot, despite being a more ragged looking bottle. — 2 years ago
Unbelievable wine that shows the best of traditional Rioja. Layer after layer of complex flavors evolve with each sip. Mid-palate is silky with pronounced acidity and lingering finish. The aromas and savory flavors are strong and varied - red fruit, sage, balsamic, cedar, lavender, violets, tobacco. The 2010 vintage in Rioja was magnificent and this wine shows it off very well. At 9 years old, this is completely enjoyable now, but will get even better with 10 years in the cellar. I’d expect this wine to last 3 decades or more. 2010 vintage on Dec 3, 2019 — 4 years ago
Purchased on release around 2003 and from the cork code of M251, it appears to have been disgorged September/October 2002. A little nutty and lemony, but with piercing and intense minerality, still fairly young. I've had the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Krugs in the last month or so and this was comparable in quality to the 1996 and drinking better than the 2000 and 2004. A spectacular Champagne and proof of the ageworthiness of the Grande Cuvée, I've had it at least 15 years and have no doubt it will continue to excel for at least another 15.
An added bonus is that it has the beautiful old gold label, which I much prefer to the current iteration, so it looks as good as it tastes. — 6 years ago
Tasted blind. Reddish tawny, translucent and old looking. Awesome nose. Notes of leather saddle, pencil lead, currants, cherry, soil, and some toasted hickory. All guessed 61 Bordeaux. This got better through the night and was at its best in the last glass. — 6 years ago
19. 1990. Deep ruby showing great concentration at the rim. No brown. M legs. Nose profound, not peppery some leather and tar. Round and full on palate, great fruit (1990!) and balance. V long. Perfectly mature but would last 20+ - still, couldn't improve, so drink. — 8 years ago
Fruit has gone mostly, but some dark baked prunes and figginess remains. Nice old Bordeaux, on its last legs I think. Stood up really well for the last 45 years though... — 9 years ago
Vintage 1996. Bought in 2002. Drank last week but app went to different page each time I tried to rate it. — 9 years ago
2004 vintage. This is not a champagne I thought worthy of the hype when I last drank this about 9 months ago. Maybe I was too quick to write it off. It seems to have grown in weight, concentration and complexity in that short period of time. The apples have become more precise, there is some stone fruit coming to the fore and even hints of minerality. There's some richness on the back of the palate now that adds character to the impression of the wine. The finish is more exact and there's depth of fruit missing last time round. The length is long and fairly persistent. Although a way off outstanding, it's become very good and clearly might improve further. — 9 years ago
Incredible. An onslaught of flavors; from dried cherry and craisins to potpourri, salumi and gun smoke. While soft and elegant, such a masculine wine. Wanted it to last forever. — 10 years ago
The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard is the last wine Bart and Daphne Araujo made from start to finish before selling their winery and vineyard to the Artemis Group. All the Eisele signatures are there, but the volume is just turned down. Dark berry fruit, gravel, spice, earthiness and leather lend striking aromatic nuance throughout. This mid-weight, supremely elegant Cabernet Sauvignon is sublime. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Superb. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2022)

Our last bottle in London before we move back! Thank you to my team for the awesome gift!
1hr+ decant. Red color with brownish orange edges. Nose contains cedar, graphite, and green elements. Complex wine that has a nice balance of tannins and depth. Very lively and probably at the perfect drinking age. Long finish. Definitely a top echelon wine! — 3 years ago
Just like the African Bush, don’t come to the Egyptian Desert without it.
Celebrating the ending of a great trip on the eve of our last day at The Old Cataract on the Nile River with one of our very favorite N/V Rosé Champange’s.

9.3 on the Billecart-Salmon Rosé and a 9.9 on our trip! — 5 years ago
Might have opened this 2-3 years too early. Opened it on the advice of a former distributor of this wine and the fact that it was poorly stored before I came across it. Drank over three days. Still a fantastic reminder of how great and complex a Napa Cab can be. This is also the last of my Krannert wines if that means anything to anyone. @Jacob Emberton, CSW — 6 years ago

Pretty. Better than last year . — 9 years ago
Should I have waited? Yes? No? It was the last one of my 6 pack of this vintage. We drank one per year since '09. Happy anniversary to us! — 9 years ago
Thanks Brad great last wine! — 11 years ago

Happy birthday J. Fantastic at 38 years. Not showing any ill affects of age. Velvety with nice juicy fruit and secondary notes of leather, bitter chocolate, forest floor and only soft thread of tertiary notes on the finish. Still had tannins. This was 2 of 2 and this drank as good, if not better, than the one last year. A pleasure.

Another visit to this lovely wine and another confirmation that 2008 was a great vintage and most probably one of the best value vintages in the last decade in Bordeaux. The wine is rich, round, elegant and smooth, already ready for drinking, with earthy notes, coffee, black current, wild berries, full round body, lovely tannins, elegant long finish. A pleasure. Just hitting its stride. Much more well integrated than I last tasted two years ago. — 8 years ago
Great with these amazing filets we had last night — 9 years ago
1995 In magnum. Don't need to say much. If you like great Bordeaux, this is it. Still showing pretty young but is unfortunately my last bottle. Carpe diem. — 9 years ago
My 4th bottle, the best and my last, this absolutely killed it and is why I love Napa Valley Cabernet, especially #Spottswoode. 12 years old this easily has another 10 to go but is in a beautiful place right now. Open or decant for 30 minutes, though I did not decant. A deep resold color, not a sign of brick as one would expect. Shows the importance of provenance (bought from winery). A complex set or aromas and flavors of creme d'cassis, currants, sweet and sour cherries, sweet cedar, and graphite. Palate wise the textures are all in alignment, with medium to full body, ample acidity and medium grain slightly chewy tannins that may be it's only flaw. #2002 — 9 years ago

2018 vintage. According to the notes, it’s been 1.5 years since last tasting. I call bs. That roughly 5% Petit Verdot phenomenally prepares the frontal assault. THE Bordeaux (along with Cos) when looking to initiate a BDX virgin. Enough stuffing for the most jaded BDX drinker and soft enuff for those without the tattoos and scars of the BDX wars. Will go 10-12 years easily…past that…??? Plushy and giving. When the lights go on and the curtain goes up, this performs-and how. 11.12.23. — 7 months ago
