I’m not familiar with Tempranillo, so I am unsure what its specific contribution to the wine is. I can only compare the wine to the Brothers and Sisters cabernet I’ve recently fallen in love with.
By George shares the same elegance as its sister wine, with a more savoury core, eschewing some sweetness and vibrancy, for darker more brooding flavours. Dark plum, cherry and dried blueberry fruits set the scene, but it’s the smoky cured meats, volcanic rock, cedar and tobacco on the mid and back palate that bring the party to life. It’s a flavour profile I haven’t encountered before, but I like it a lot. The soft tannins are well integrated, the balance slightly acidic, but not objectionable, lending a lingering spiciness to the finish.
Another Fox Gordon masterpiece. The love affair continues… — 9 years ago
Never ending love affair with Portuguese brancos! — 9 years ago
Definitely in the top third of Barbera's I've had. Nice fruit that would have gone well with salametto and parmigiano reggiano. Instead, we were grilling flank steak and chicken and thinking about the ones who left their blood and breath on foreign soil so that we could have the freedoms we enjoy. If that doesn't put a lump in your throat, then you have some reading to do. — 10 years ago

Nice fruit driven Pinot from a tiny producer making 175 cases. Pretty impressive . Quiet night with Steph watching her favorite Hollywood Foreign Press Golden Globe Awards! Bravo 2 all . I say 93+, on wine. I defer to Hollywood for the rest! BRAVO CHARLIE PARIS! — 10 years ago

Fruité, très acidulé, frais, touche de sucre qui balance bien le tout, rappelle le fruit de la passion et l'ananas — 9 years ago
A lovely find. Almond-skin, honeysuckle, orange & lemon blossoms, peach sorbet, and a generally delicate but exotic profile. Lively acid. Always a love affair with classic Viognier. — 9 years ago
Excellent. 100% appassimento. — 10 years ago
Wowzers! Another '99 port that we thought was held long enough but turns out could have likely been held for a few more years! — 10 years ago
Purple Palm Hotel with D! So great to come back to a Bordeaux after an affair with Italians... — 10 years ago
A little French burgundy just to break myself out of my long term Italian vino love affair. It wasn't bad at all but I think I'm going to go back to my old girlfriends. I hope they forgive me for my little peccadillo. — 10 years ago
Hot off the press - this 2014 vintage is fresh, Limey and slatey. Continuing the Love affair with King George Whiting on the Yorke Peninsula. A lovely Riesling with a 30 year pedigree, either young or 10 years old. 17+. — 10 years ago
At foreign cinema, actually a good price here. So delicious. — 12 years ago
Vin de soif par excellence... Or some such mixed string of foreign languages to indicate approval. — 8 years ago
Loving the addition of Picpoul to this vintage! Brighter acidity and citrus notes with a hint of spice. My love affair with this producer continues . . . — 8 years ago
Showing its rhythmic licks and groovy colors (Deep Purple and bold) presciently savvy to a rock-n-roll world well before its time and blasting some bright-lights bling showing bing cherry gradually toned down by dried fruit right out the archer bag (often strapped across my back) while on brisk hike along wet leaf-lined trail through a late-evening forest (think musky mossy spice) as a 3/4 moon shines its magic over a distant blue pacific as the Zin unctuously offers a bigger-yet blueberry coating, front to back, and soft tannins bring back the dried fruit and a leisurely downhill creep to that distant ocean thereafter rewarded by a sit down on the seaward primary dune gazing at the moon and, of course, another hit. It's a rock-n-roll love affair in a bottle, top to bottom. Get some...😎 — 9 years ago
