This Central Otago Pinot Noir comes to us from two of Rockburn's sites, one located in the hillside region of Parkburn in Cromwell Basin and the other coming from the back road of Gibbston Valley.
This bottle was a favourite for many at the tasting, as despite it's young age, it displays mature characters of spice, blackberry, with mocha and dark chocolate to boot.
Subtle berry and smokey aromas lead into a wine that is full bodied with all the tannic structure you could ask for.
Incredible finish.

It's like standing in a saloon in the southwest during the early 1800s. With flavors of tobacco and leather, with the rich berries and tannins, this wine is reminiscent of riding in the saddle next to the duke. (R9 K9) — 11 years ago
Boysenberries and licorice yumminess! Just me, hanging out with a $100 bottle at Duke of Bourbon in Westlake Village. Gotta appreciate this wine. — 11 years ago
The duke of burgers. Fat hacking acidity and smoky tannins. Almost meaty, but closer to ketchup with elderberries, fresh cut sawdust, and spicy herbs — 12 years ago
