Focused, dense, hard outer shell, tightly wound and locked ... But Loaded with quality marks that will take patience to enjoy... Graphite, dark fruits, young cassis, and tannins that shutter the meek - 98 points - save for a decade before considering to open. 2004 vintage, awesome stuff for the price. A real competitor to Champange from Cally. — 9 years ago
Raspberry and blackberry nose with slight rose petal notes. Pomegranate red colour. Medium body with well balanced red and black berry fruit sweetness and acidity (medium plus). Mouthwatering juicy and tangy mouthfeel. On the palate is a ripe red raspberry and blackberry platter with features of ripe cherries and a medium minus feature of french oak foundation. Well structured acidity and fruit with medium minus presence of tannins. Personable of low sweetness strawberry purée from a weathered cedar plank goblet. This is an excellent Italian competitor of a Paso Robles Californian Zinfandel with shared DNA structure ( overseas family). Enjoy with pulled pork nachos or chipotle chicken with smoked cheddar pizza. — 9 years ago
The last wine Hannah poured for us was the '12 Cambria Pinot Noir 'Bench Break'. A very solid and representative Santa Maria Valley Pinot, this bottle displayed black fruit and floral aromas before fading to a clean fresh finish. We're so happy we disregarded the misguided suggestion by a nameless competitor to bypass Cambria. It was a one of the highlights of an awesome trip. — 10 years ago
Winner vs it's right bank competitor! Sweet chocolate, bright red fruit, aggressive oak influences, well balanced and proportioned - Duckhorns 2010 is a lovable effort and merits 91 points in France vs California by learnaboutwine.com 5.25.14 #delectable #wine — 10 years ago
Drank this at Restaurant Amics at Buil & Gine Winery. Loved that they enthusiastically endorsed a wine made by a competitor. Love the comraderie in Priorat! — 8 years ago

2002 by Paul Hobbs is unbeatable, maybe his best class of Cabernets, though in a few years I am sure 2007 will be a staunch competitor. Red and purple color, the nose is a little funky, but the palate is fantastic with bright red fruits like cherry and raspberry, a touch of dusty mocha, the palate is plenty young, easily another 5-7 years here. Bright acidity and silky tannins. Shows the Carneros cool climate in spades. — 10 years ago
No shocker - this was the wine of the day. So much content it stained the glass! Rich, ripe, cassis, vanilla creme brûlée, textural old vine fruits, layers of oak, toast, and ample tannin to balance and evoke bewilderment and praise! 99 points - one of the best Scarecrow efforts I have witnessed...a stunning wine 1st place Winner vs Nobel Bordeaux competitor in France vs California by learnaboutwine.com 5.25.14 #delectable #wine — 10 years ago

Very much a competitor with modern Syrah producers. Bold, ripe and with surprising balance for a wine this rich. Great to see and experience! — 7 years ago
