As someone else wrote, a cab drinker's pinot noir. That's why I drank it so fast. 😉 — 11 years ago

2013 vintage. Very crushed rock and lime nose. Good silky mid palate but acidity isn't shining through here. There's quite a bit of oak too that's not integrated and the buttery notes of the malo. Decent. — 11 years ago
Surprisingly better the next day. I know that's anathema to most wine snobs, but what can I say? Longer breathing or decanting next time. — 12 years ago
Smooth, not too big. My wife liked it. That's how to tell it isn't too big. — 12 years ago
GW tasting 9/28/16. Magnum. Nose with less fruit and more oxidative sherry notes that are pleasant. Palate that's very balanced with acids and minerals. Looking complex finish. Excellent. Color that's a bit brownish. — 10 years ago
My god that's pretty. Cristom's entry level and they nailed it. So fresh. — 10 years ago
Close your eyes and imagine the pb&j of your youth! That's what this wine is, a comforting sweet and fruity wine! Smells like jam and tasted of it too — 10 years ago
Nice Gamay that's vibrant with strawberry / cherry fruit and some acidity. Not overly tannic. 2011 vintage. — 11 years ago
Wish I had an IV hooked up to my arm for this wine. It is seriously fleeking amazing - if that's a thing... — 11 years ago
Not lacking in flavor that's for sure. — 11 years ago
Nervoso... That's it. — 12 years ago

Yeah, this is an effing funk factory that's full of excess CO2...which means you need to grab the bottle, shake it like a Polaroid picture and toughen the f*ck up.
Because after all, this is Pegau and beneath the ugly duckling exterior there's an absolutely gorgeous, captivating wine just waiting to be unleashed.

CUBS WIN! This wine was produced after the Cubs last NLDS win. That's sad yet also enough reason to crack it. — 11 years ago
2000 vintage. Deep ruby, edging to deep garnet around the rim, very bright. Plush on the nose. The black cassis notes from the Cab and the violets from the Cab Franc are very noticeable. The wine is developing with huge sweet spice, vanilla, smoke and leather. There's a bovril, meaty note here that's very attractive. On the palate, medium acidity, high tannin - grippy, but not coarse; well integrated. Alcohol is 13% and unobtrusive. Good concentration. Fruit is riper on palate than in the mouth, and a distinctive dark chocolate and cinnamon note. The finish is long and attractive. Hard to imagine this wine drinking any better from here. — 11 years ago
I hear this was a fantastic wine, that's what I get for cooking. — 11 years ago
Ka-boom. That's all. — 12 years ago
Surprisingly that these '84s held up so well 30 years later. But that's what you expect from a premier grand cru, oui? Dark ruby color has turned toasty brown. Fruit notes are now woody or tobacco vs. currants or cherries. A lovely wine aging elegantly. — 12 years ago
Great Valentine's Day (2013) wine! Light, dry and long lasting punchy finish. Amore! — 13 years ago
