Totally different from any white you're used to drink. This is like entering a cave in Loire valley and smelling the walls surround you ... It's completely enveloping you with stone and earthy minerality. A good level of acidity and well balanced alcohol level makes it the find of the month, if not the year! — 10 years ago
Dark purple to garnet colors - starting to show some age on the nose, but on the palate, this is still a baby. Gobs of tannin surround dark fruit & musty spice. Would like to try this again in 10 years. — 11 years ago
This wine exudes the terroir of the mountain slope south of Lake Hennessey. The cool breeze coming off the water, the 100+ year old olive trees and pomegranate trees that surround the vineyard are all there in the nose. The palate shows silky smooth inky dark fruit, but without the overly tannic bite of a cab, and a funky earthiness reminiscent of a pinot. Delicious, complex wine. — 9 years ago
Deep cocoa & coffee flavors with a slightly bitter aftertaste. — 10 years ago
Clear, clean & surprisingly bright & purple with a touch of ruby red color for a wine this age. Loved the raw animal aromas that surround wild cherry & plum notes with a touch of rose petal. Cherry, earthy, somewhat reduced sulphur flavors. Rustic & classic. Not a mind blower, but traditional. — 11 years ago
Beautifully balanced smoothed out tannins surround a rich dark but it heavy fruitiness on the palette. — 9 years ago
Nice, very nice. Wild black cherries in melted chocolate. Yummy! — 11 years ago

Smoke and minerals surround aromas of creme brûlée and yeast . The palate is not as interesting as I found this had lost some of its focus in the mouth. Up against some very tough competitors. — 9 years ago
