Deep, dark red, cherry, vanilla and warm briar fruit aromas. Full and silky with spunky tannin kick on the mid palate. Juicy and jammy with a mild sweetness. Good with any meal.

Tannin Vanilla delicious fruit. Blueberry pie. — 7 years ago
Dark ruby. Aromatic blend of red cherries, raspberries, mocha, baking spices, and hints of loamy earth and rose petals. On the palate, it’s a heavyweight, fruit driven Pinot with the density, alcohol, and persistence one would expect from producers like Bevan and Kosta Browne. It’s sourced from a vineyard planted to Dijon clones. Although sure to thrill fans of big Pinot, it’s a bit over the top. — 7 years ago
Smooth and jammy. A consistently tasty product. Not a hint of metallic. Tried again after 15 years and was definitely impressed. — 7 years ago

Had this for a while, and was worried it might be past its prime. Really glad to be wrong! — 9 years ago
Lots of tart cherries and red raspberries. A little smokiness with some wet earthiness as well. Ripping acid - great with spicy food. — 10 years ago
Hazelnuts and caramel on the nose with mocha, bright strawberries and cranberry on the palate. A young wine that will benefit with age. — 10 years ago

Lovely Bordeaux, this Pauillac is now celebrating 20 years and is at its peak. The 1999 vintage was a cool classical vintage and the wine is more classic and reserve than some of the recent warmer vintages. The nose is rich and complex with clear notes of coffee, tobacco, oak, black current, graphite, dry herbs and dark fruits, full body with smooth lightly dry tannins and a long finish. The wine is drinking beautifully now and regretfully it was my last from this vintage. My score 91, drink to 2021 — 6 years ago
