Not the most fragrant Nebbiolo, but has focused sour cherries typifying it with balanced acidity. — 10 years ago

Sour and excellent — 9 years ago
Very much alive after 50+ years with aromas reminiscent of cherries, dried plums, licorice, orange peel, cedar akin to an old wooden cabinet, old leather, tobacco, earthiness, minute hints of celery and fennel, a slight veil of oxidation that adds to a slightly spicy beef broth undertone. Amazing dense oily texture to the wine but it still remains quite light, sour red fruit flavors as it enters the mouth with some blackberries, the midpalate reveals some savory beef broth notes mixed with balsamic notes that continue on to the long lasting spicy finish with discrete creamy notes. — 10 years ago
Just a nice balance of flavors... — 10 years ago
Shrimpy saline and musky saffron aromas and sweet, familiar Belgian triple, maybe La Chouffe? or even like Hefeweizen ? tastes--but finishes drier, more refreshing and more musky. Pretty refreshing, goes quick. Most certainly lighter-footed than Chouffe. Quite the rare gift! How do I rate a beer, I'm no beer guy...? — 10 years ago
This beer is my jam. Just lovely. Light on the palate but a little heavy on the belly with a meal. — 11 years ago
One the best single IPA's in the world, Amarillo and Simco hops, that's all!!! But Awesome, Alpine one the best breweries in the USA, second only to Russian River, but the brewery does not get the just praise they truly deserve, Outstanding, my second favorite single IPA, Alpine's Nelson is first, only wish more people knew about this great beer and brewery — 11 years ago

Very well balanced with a very small bit of sweetness but a nice bit of funkiness matched with a crisp, dry, slight white pepper thing going on. Real nice beer. — 9 years ago
Notes of eucalyptus, juniper berries, pink peppercorn and grapefruit on the nose with an initial taste of sour cherries. Tastes like you drank an entire pine forest with lemon balm, sorrel and manure compost. A bit tannic. This made me a convert finally to Beaujolais. — 10 years ago
