Dark beauty. I'm partial to this wine because I love all things Edgar Allan Poe. Aromas of savory, rounded fruit. Super delicious berry velvety opulence and seductive through the finish. 9.8 when you consider the value and everything going for this 100% Syrah. — 10 years ago

I’d like to know what Edgar Alan Poe has to say about this bold and impressive wine. Smoky and peppery with a nice, dry finish. We are enjoying this while nibbling on dry cheese and putting together Thanksgiving dinner. — 7 years ago
Not the most aromatic of wines. Songs of leather, aged balsamic, dried cherries and cranberry, dried fennel and a general earthiness. Tannins are soft and powdery, with a fresh cherry like acidity. Length could be better. Not bad. — 8 years ago

Still plenty of life in this Aussie Shiraz. All of the typical power but surprisingly refined. Dark berries and hints of Rioja like vanilla and cigar box. Very happy I have 3 more bottles in the cellar — 9 years ago
Elegant. Seamless. Feminine. Nice acid, slightest bit of funk, touch of perfume, red fruit and savory components with a good spicy backbone. This wine is Alive and Kicking and likely drinking at its best right now. #Cornas 😍 #1986 Top Songs were #SayYouSayMe by #LionelRichie & #WestEndGirls by #PetShopBoys #RonaldReagan was #President of the #US & the #ChicagoBears defeated the #NewEnglandPatriots in the #SuperBowl in #NewOrleans ... & people in the #NorthernRhone of #France plucked these grapes with love and bottled them to bring us back in time... ❤️🍷🍷🙏👏 #ThinkWhileYouDrink What were you up to in 1986??? — 10 years ago

Excellent aromas of lemon peel, lemon curd, crisp apple and crushed stones. The palate has a hint of contradiction with ripe apple and lemon confit notes balanced by steely mineral tones. Seems poised enough for further development. Superb while enjoy the stories and songs of Joe Ely and Alejandro Escavado. — 8 years ago
Liking this a lot on a rainy night in the cellar with Deano crooning classic Italian songs on the Victrola......ahh. Beautiful at the open, silky, few tanins remain, so good timing to be enjoying. Definitely dark fruit, but Linda gets a spice on the finish which I don't. — 8 years ago
