Domaine de la Solitude

Réserve Secrète Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2001

Took a surprisingly long time to open up. Nose was nonexistent initially, but palate was deep and complex. Began to open and become spectacular after 2 h, just as we finished it. — 11 years ago

Château Massiac

Cuvée Sentinelle Minervois Red Rhône Blend 2013

If you're looking to get slapped in the face with funk, this wine is for you. If you like farting on an airplane because no one can hear you, this wine is definitely for you. Talk about subtle tannins creeping on you like a man in a dark alley wielding a paper mâché knife. Drink this in solitude. Cry in public. — 11 years ago

Certainly a breath of fresh air, if that breath was muffled by a pair of tired oxen and the air was directly piped from the exhaust of an overworked steam engine. Small tannins, large acidity. Hints of old sage, new money. Still can't find a producer despite my sincere efforts
