Drinks well above it’s pricepoint. Such purposeful clarity and depth with control and elegance. — 9 years ago

Drinking way above its pay grade.... Again. I love 96 Bordeaux. Beautiful nose with plenty of fruit but telltale pepper. Long life. — 10 years ago
As far as big houses go, always been a fan of the special cuvée. This is a cut above - lots and lots of biscuit and toast, but very well integrated, bit of dried apricot and a slight tinge of bitter oxidation rounding out this one - fantastic sparkler. — 11 years ago
Full bodied and well-balanced. Delicious chard but priced well above what most are willing to pay for CA Chards. — 12 years ago
2014-2016 flight. The 2014 is the most classic cab style (less fruit, more structure) and the tannins have mellowed a lot over the last couple years. Drinking great. The 2015 is the most boisterous in terms of big sweet fruit, acid, tannins. It's a little rough around the edges right now but so good. 2016 is a blend of the two. It's refined but shows the generosity of fruit in the 2016 vintage (loving this vintage!). Reminds me of the bard with a little bubble gum action on opening. Drinks well above its price point. It's lush and dark and has all the components. Superb. Glad we got this. 94+. Pushing 95 — 8 years ago

I'm fairly new to Girard wines, but really quite fond of this cab blend. I've tasted the '11 as well and this seems to be a step above. Really opens nicely after a bit of a decant...medium bodied but full of great flavor. — 10 years ago
Darker red fruits, blackcurrant, tinge of sweetness, soft tannins that faded with air, denser and really punched above its weight — 10 years ago
Had the 2012 (can only find the 2012 magnum on Wally's Wine and Spirits Website, and well worth it as it's above and beyond the '13) on our honeymoon in Kauai at the St Regis Kauai Grill. Wonderful wine that barely needs need to breathe and can be pretty much paired with anything. — 11 years ago
83 vintage was showing strong tannin still... Lovely wine, everything there but definitely in to secondary flavour characteristics. Even this far back Pontet-Canet was punching above it's 5th growth status. #mtlwinethrowdown — 11 years ago
Very tasty! As Lloyd put it... "It's a step above our wine in a box." :) — 13 years ago
Above average: One of several dinner wines in Normandy, France May 2018 — 8 years ago

This is a Bordeaux from St. Emilion that punches well above its weight. Rich fruit with retreating tannins make it a very enjoyable wine. — 10 years ago
Not ever sure why the 61 vintage sells at or even above Petrus price as I've never had it but rest of the old vintages are just lovely and relatively a bargain! This bottle had all the nuances and elegance of a fine lady at ease with oneself. Love it! — 10 years ago
Happy wine in my happy place with my happy person. Not sure if life actually gets better? best value in white burgundy - punches above its weight — 10 years ago
Great bubbles, complex on the back end. A steal at €27, and head and shoulders above its peers. — 11 years ago
Merlot with a dash of Syrah, this wine gives you red cherries and dusty blackberries with a sprinkling of pink peppercorns. Punches above its weight class.

Lovely balance, opened up with a bit of aeration and punched well above its weight. — 11 years ago
Great value claret with a bit of age, punching well above! — 11 years ago
First time tasting Lisini wines. This was straight forward great Brunello & above all w/ no vanilla..... Traditional style all the way, elegant with great fruit & balanced — 12 years ago

Taut, steely giving way with warming to white flower, lemon zest. Too young, but really nice and a clear step above the regular Bourgogne. Try again in 2 yrs. — 7 years ago
