Marsanne, roussanne, Viognier co-firmented on the skins and aged on the Lees in barrel for 6 mo. - super interesting, funky white — 11 years ago
Gewirtz, Gris and Riesling co-fermented. Spicy, smooth and sophisticated. Those don't come together very often. Good with everything! — 12 years ago
Granny Smith apple for days son — 12 years ago
Loving this California producer right now. You may see their Zinfandel in the ATL market. Winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson is the son of Ravenswood founder Joel Peterson. They're working with multiple old vineyards in CA making gorgeous Heritage single vineyard wines (vineyards a blend of varietals). — 12 years ago
At wine week, but not on the tasting list. Peter ordered this. First bottle had almost turned, bad cork. At Smith and Wollensky's 9/20/13 — 13 years ago
With Hillstone recently deciding to A). add a $15 corkage fee to their menu and B). take the Smith-Madrone Spring Mountain Cab Sauv. off their wine list (crime of the century in my opinion!), I wondered if there were any good wine finds left on their menu. I was pleased to find this one and enjoyed it thoroughly with my French Dip! Even better was the cute guy seen sitting across the bar from me! I would have gladly shared! Now, just need to curb my addiction to their creamy horseradish and all will be right in the world-well sorta.... — 9 years ago
Crisp pear on the front that turns into a silvery Granny Smith apple and finishes like a Wethers Original. — 10 years ago
Its older than me. Full of flavour. — 10 years ago
Made by Mr Smith I should have added this wine maker to my list of special producers. This wine reminded me of a great Las Cases from saint julien. Silky and delicious with wood fully integrated and enough acid to take this abort decade this wine was profound and reminded me of the relationship I was having with my glass the entire time the bottle was open. — 11 years ago
Renauds son pooped in his pants!!!! — 12 years ago
Not too sweet and smooth — 12 years ago
Co-fermentation. Young. Steel. Balanced Acidity. Vino Verde Style. Granny Smith Apple. Slight Effervescence. — 12 years ago
A nose of Granny Smith Apple with a light brioche note. Medium fine bubbles that are very persistent and a light palate of apples, pears and a little strawberry with some minerality. Well made, but not something that delivers on the palate. — 13 years ago
Light, smith, silk-like taste. — 10 years ago
Granny Smith apples, Bosc pear, lime juice, lemon pulp, bread/yeast, ginger ale, toffee nuts, butterscotch candy, yellow floral, chalky minerals, nice balance and acidity.

Enjoyable, don't get me wrong yet the least enjoyable out of a very impressive shaw and smith line up, one of the best tasting ranges I've tried — 11 years ago
Super fresh and yummy!! 😍 — 12 years ago
Excellent mature Eden Valley riesling from the venerable S Smith & Son family company known in cuddly terms as Yalumba, based in Angaston for 165 years; pale gold wine; ultra dry; lime juice acidity; nose of burnt toast, brioche, leather, leatherwood honey. — 12 years ago
Not too much of a white drinker, but it's a simple everyday Chardonnay. Buttery pear aroma with a hint of Granny Smith. Smooth entry distinguishing the buttery taste. Well balanced — 12 years ago
Very nice Pinot noir. Goes well with food or on its own. — 14 years ago

We are all aware of the fires ravaging Napa & Sonoma. Regusci survived with basically a little something more than scorched property as shown in the top photo. One of the lucky ones. The picture on the left shows Laura Regusci and her young son Andrew with fire extinguishers having fought property flames to protect their buildings. In crisis, vintners really come together. That’s Rob Mondavi Jr. helping them with the 17 vintage. I emailed with Jeff Smith of Hourglass and they were helping follow vintners crush grapes etc. at their property who were still without power etc.. Napa/Sonoma is so community strong! The real heroes in all this are the Firefighters in bottom photo. They walk right into the frontline of flames without a second thought. They have been working in some cases three straight shifts a day and then pulling up only a piece of the ground to get some sleep. Some of these Firefighters lost their homes in the fires as well. If you’d like to support these brave Firefighters who have lost everything while at the same time fighting to save others, the Int’l Association of Firefighters has set up a fund for Firefighters who have lost their homes. Here is the link to donate, http://www.gofundahero.com/campaign/detail/4913 🚒. The Regusci 2010 Zinfandel on the nose is; blackberries, boysenberries, dark cherries, huckleberries, poached strawberries, black licorice, baking spices, dark rich earth, dry top soil, bramble, volcanic minerals, violets, lavender and lilacs. The body is round and rich with juicy fruits. The tannins are soft and well resolved. Fruits are ripe; boysenberries, huckleberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, dark cherries & pomegranate. Nice baking spices; vanilla, clove and cinnamon. Rich dark earth, crushed rocks, dry top soil, soft volcanic minerals, black cherry cola/licorice, red florals, violets, light lavender, lilacs, waterfall acidity and a long, elegant, round, rich, juicy fruit finish that’s is consistent all the way through and lasts well over a minute. It’s somewhere around it’s peak with a few more years of good drinking left. Paired well with the slightly spicy Kentucky Bourbon chicken skewers. All our prays and hopes for the people in Napa and Sonoma. — 9 years ago
