Rice forward, smoke, oak, ash. Clean finish. Rice rules all — 5 years ago
Simply outstanding and still in need of either a ton of air or more time. Midnight purple, even black in color this wine opens with an aroma of raspberry crumble and a touch of brown sugar. The palate is full of big juicy purple fruit and berries with a kiss of cedar. Finish goes on and on with a bit of bitters at the very end to make the mouth water and want more. I think it’s nearly perfect. It prob will be in a few years — 6 years ago

The 2016s just came in so I had to rip one open. This might be the best SC ever and that is saying a lot. It’s certainly the best one for early drinking as it was singing with only a splash decant. A return to dark fruits, cedar, orange peel. The life of the party. — 6 years ago
Nice toluene nose initially. Bright berries and band-aids. Surprisingly tight on the back end. After an hour in the decanter a fantastic bog water nose started to emerge. Gradually opening up, but I think this wine needs another 10-15 years to hit its stride. — 8 years ago

A full-body Pinot! Deep Ruby with berry aromas, floral and garden spice. On the palate ripe strawberry and dried cherry fruit with vanilla spice and cedar notes. The wine is well structured, silky smooth tannins, balanced acidity carry the wine to a lingering spicy finish. Very Nice! — 5 years ago
Nice golden hue, looks heavy and rich in the glass. Honeyed fragrant nose. Notes of sweet apricot, mango, lemon, white clay, tan spice, and stones. Nice intensity in the mouth, with gobs of fruit matched against acidity that built over the afternoon. Telltale aged Raveneau honey, exotic today but not over the top. I brought this and it was the best of the couple or so bottles of it that I've had. Was at its best with ~5 hours of air, and leftover was still singing the next morning. — 5 years ago
Embodies elegance and finesse without sacrificing power. Sexy nose, strawberry confiture, spices plums, ceylon, pepper, hot rocks and gravel, red flowers and savory herbs, worn leather. So silky, sleek tannins, fresh yet soft acid. Just singing right now and clearly has life ahead of it. — 7 years ago
Darker Ruby with aromas of big red fruits and slight spice. On the palate bold black cherry, blackberry and plum with rich tannins around some oak. Well balanced the fruit stays with this wine on a lingering finish. — 8 years ago
After 2 hour decant still kind of smelled like a bag of balloons. Put it back in the bottle and on day 2 it's singing. Woodsy black cherry, black tea, baking spices and some of that classic tar thing. — 8 years ago
