A full-body Pinot! Deep Ruby with berry aromas, floral and garden spice. On the palate ripe strawberry and dried cherry fruit with vanilla spice and cedar notes. The wine is well structured, silky smooth tannins, balanced acidity carry the wine to a lingering spicy finish. Very Nice! — 7 years ago
Simply outstanding and still in need of either a ton of air or more time. Midnight purple, even black in color this wine opens with an aroma of raspberry crumble and a touch of brown sugar. The palate is full of big juicy purple fruit and berries with a kiss of cedar. Finish goes on and on with a bit of bitters at the very end to make the mouth water and want more. I think it’s nearly perfect. It prob will be in a few years — 8 years ago
Nice toluene nose initially. Bright berries and band-aids. Surprisingly tight on the back end. After an hour in the decanter a fantastic bog water nose started to emerge. Gradually opening up, but I think this wine needs another 10-15 years to hit its stride. — 10 years ago

Darker Ruby with aromas of big red fruits and slight spice. On the palate bold black cherry, blackberry and plum with rich tannins around some oak. Well balanced the fruit stays with this wine on a lingering finish. — 10 years ago

Nice Chardonnay. Good for sipping — 11 years ago
This is outstanding. Even after 3+ hours in the decanter, it keeps evolving. Honey, candied citrus, flowers, ripe pineapple, white chocolate strawberry, dark chocolate orange, and apricot. Undercut by freshness throughout. This needs at least 30 min, preferably an hour in the decanter before enjoying. Utterly unique and in its own league. 6 years in barrel and another 6 in bottle before release and this is just singing. — 6 years ago
Nice golden hue, looks heavy and rich in the glass. Honeyed fragrant nose. Notes of sweet apricot, mango, lemon, white clay, tan spice, and stones. Nice intensity in the mouth, with gobs of fruit matched against acidity that built over the afternoon. Telltale aged Raveneau honey, exotic today but not over the top. I brought this and it was the best of the couple or so bottles of it that I've had. Was at its best with ~5 hours of air, and leftover was still singing the next morning. — 7 years ago
1993 mag - big bold and beautiful - one hour decant was needed and frighten when cork was cracked when pulling but man this big boy was singing
Now all that said - this wine was absolutely ready to be enjoyed - if sitting on this one better drink it
Color was darkest red and smell had it all with the taste of black fruits and the finish was not the longest but definitely satisfying

After 2 hour decant still kind of smelled like a bag of balloons. Put it back in the bottle and on day 2 it's singing. Woodsy black cherry, black tea, baking spices and some of that classic tar thing. — 10 years ago
Another fabulous 1989! Singing perfectly after two hours in decanter. For Family steak dinner Sunday. Cheers! — 10 years ago

Just, just... just wonderful.
Initially, I get quince and a slight licorice that isn’t overpowering. Peach, of course.
The intangible here is just the well rounded character of the whole thing. It’s hard to nail down, but it’s got this savory, sweet, umami, bitter, acid quality to it that just brings a sip to the very edge of paradise as a flavor, a taste, an experience.
I’m glad I went for the gold here. I love drinking the canned sake and the 300 mL bottles when I’m going solo, so I upped the ante a bit and went for the mid-tier higher selection and it paid off. — 6 years ago
