Louis M. Martini

Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

A great value. Started out seeming a little heavy handed on the oak, but after being open a bit, fruit shone through. — 11 years ago

Remoissenet Père et Fils

Volnay Pinot Noir 1978

Started off as pale, thin and Maderized. I had slim hopes. But it made a tremendous come back. Within 45 to 60 minutes it was rich, dark fruity and balanced. It bloomed and shone. It never completely lost it's mustiness, but it darkened, became around and very fruity. The acid continued throughout. It had only a short window before it began to fade. It had its 15 minutes of fame, but oh what a 15 minutes. — 11 years ago

Heitz Cellar

Bella Oaks Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1976

Still a beautiful example of California Cabernet. Just a touch of barnyard, but the black fruit still shone through. — 13 years ago

Domaine du Pegau

Cuvée Réservé Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Nice bottle age and depth of flavors. A very smooth soft cabernet flavor shone through — 11 years ago

Poggio Antico

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 1997

Took about 45 min for this to really come into its own. Seductive nose...the acidity toned down and the dark berry fruits really shone through. Finish is clean and the tannins are soft yet hold on throughout. — 11 years ago

Needed a couple hours to come around, but then shone in a restrained CA way with miso glazed salmon. Mature, but no rush. — 12 years ago

Shone Farm Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Delicious wine from Napa wine tasting (Doyle girls) with nice minerality and hints of fruit: white peach and melon. — 13 years ago

Côte de Bouqueyreaux Bougros Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2009

This guy survived the wine fridge failure and shone! A bit softer than the Fevre, although paired with fried chicken and such. Impressive, elegant wine. Nice to have a bottle that's not pre-moxed! — 11 years ago

Quinta do Crasto

Reserva Vinhas Velhas Douro Red Blend 2005

2010 tasted like the 2005 and vice-versa. This could easily do another 5 years. Tannins but with food esp shone. — 12 years ago
