This wine is delicious now, but drinking it is infanticide! It's nose is powerful, projecting 3 inches from the glass. The palate and finish are beautiful. Great fruit and spicy pepper depth. Wait 10 years! — 9 years ago
Drinkable. Great value — 10 years ago
Blind tasted and was told that it was mono varietal. Didn't get any Viognier so was confused- alas my gut was right. I never distinguish Syrah from serine. But it really does impact the wine. Regardless- amazing. The acidity was surprising. Green peppers and some violets with a hint of red fruit on the nose. Quite a tender and delicate nose. — 10 years ago
Surprisingly bold Syrah from NZ with an above average tannin backbone, black fruit and mild hints of spices at the end of the finish. Lovely accompaniment to the meats at Temper. — 8 years ago
This wine is my jam. most definitely #msclassic #serine #wholecluster #ilovetheclape — 9 years ago
Amazing white pepper unlike any Syrah I've ever had from California, with roasted beef and blackberry and raspberry, both the fruit and bruised green canes. It is a little lean and tart on the palate, which I find very appealing but which may be offputting to some. It's startling reminiscent of old school Cote Rotie in the elegant style, like 80s and early 90s Ogier, Jasmin, or Gallet, and reminds me how much I miss them. It also reminds me of Texier's Serine wines. — 10 years ago
A touch of carbonic maceration, a blend of Viognier, Syrah, serine. Figs and licorice and olives. — 10 years ago
Great stuff. Definitely needs air. Like chili, it's even better on day 2 — 10 years ago
vieille serine clone. pure deliciousness. — 8 years ago
Great pairing with BYO Indian food. Super fresh and complex tannins. — 9 years ago
Less than 350 cases, Guigal hermitage old clone of Syrah aka Serine with some Viognier. Lieu-dit La Viallière meaning special soils of decomposed schist and gneiss. No chemicals, natural yeasts, and Demi-muids/ new wood barrels. Ruby garnet color with aromas of bacon, cherry, rose petals while silky on the palette with some herbal notes on the finish. Medium to full body. — 9 years ago
