Bring on fall! This one was singing tonight. Strawberry with black pepper and kirsch, all laid on top of some elegant mineralogy. I probably won't sit on my other bottles too long since I don't see this one having much long term aging potential, but it sure was a treat for the first weekend of fall! — 8 years ago
Dark color, earthy, dark cherries and a bit of licorice (??). Silky smooth. Would drink again in several years to see how it continues to develop. — 8 years ago
Oak dominates with hints of blackberry, black plum, and violet. I would like try the 2011 vintage again in a few years to see how the tertiary flavors develop. — 9 years ago
From magnum; slow-oxed for three hours.
Lovely deep colour, with healthy (not flabby) bricking, though slightly shaken up from the car journey (despite having held it tightly all the way); enchanting nose, like standing in the depths of a cedar forest! Also hints of peppery leather, sweet liquorice, and pencil shavings. Lovely depth to the nose, permeating into the room as the meal progressed. Wonderful length (40s or more) and great balance, with well integrated but still firmish tannins and fantastically poised acidity.
I inspected the dregs the following morning (see picture) and the bottle still smelled amazing - even stronger than the night before, though the wine itself had started to flag a bit. Nonetheless an amazing drop! — 9 years ago
Closed at first. It's a little young but great potential for aging. Loved the barn aromas - hay, saw dust, leather. Earthy notes, grape vine tomatoes, mushrooms, red fruits, spicy notes and nutmeg. High acidity. Well balance and elegant. Pairs with Italian foods (tomato and cream based). — 9 years ago
Really good stuff. Got better and better. 2 hours in we were done but wish we had another bottle to see how it tasted in another hour or more. Smooth. Rich. Held up extremely well. — 10 years ago
Gamay. I would love to see more of you. Such a bright girl.
Dare some Dutch Gouda for contrast of nut and berry.

Past it’s best for a few years now, but still very interesting to taste and absolutely not completely gone.
Garnet colour. On the nose as expected a lot of tertiary aroma’s like tobacco, coffee, ceder, chocolate, meaty, smoke, leather, mushrooms, earth, caramel and balsamic. On the palate it is confirmed that the fruit has faded and so have the tanins. This make the wine a bit thin and structureless, like you see often with wines if this age. Great experience! — 7 years ago
Both me and the girl enter our 40th year in 2018, so we are celebrating a couple of days early with the oldest champagne we've ever had. Special is an understatement. Tastes like I'm butt naked, face down in a seafood tower on the top of the Empire State Building, waiting on a helicopter to come take us to Waffle House to sober up before we get in a Ferrari to see a 35mm print of E.T. Endless thanks to @Christian Moses for this bottle. Will remember it for a long time to come. ❤🥂 Happy New Years Friends — 8 years ago
Very intense. Powerful gunpowder, flint, lime. A dazzling and broad midpalate. Really juicy and focused with none of the over-ripeness you sometimes see in 05. Killer. No signs of premox and will probably kick ass in 20 years on this showing. — 8 years ago
2000 vintage. Smoky, meaty, mushrooms, forest floor. Very Burgundian in character. Black currants, a little sassafras and a hint of mint. Look up complex in the dictionary and you'll probably see a photo of this wine. I was a little worried that this wine might have been over the hill, but now I'm a little sorry I opened it as this was my last 2000, and it has years to go. — 9 years ago
Vanilla, cured meat, cherries, smoky, plum.... a bit of everything on the nose but in a very restrained and harmonized way. On the palate it tastes much like a Burgundy with earthy freshness and fine balance between acidity and alcohol. Medium finish with mellow tannins. For a 15 year old Grand Reserva Rioja, the price is unreal. I can certainly see why it's wine of the year in 2013 for Decanter. — 9 years ago
Fabulous wine! For the price point this drinks like a much more expensive wine. Fresh fruity perfectly balanced. — 10 years ago
2004 vintage. 86% Cabernet Sauvignon on the '04. Very good complexity, huge concentration and some very expensive carpentry applied on new French oak barrels. Bright acidity and fine grained tannins. Lovely aromas of black berry and black currant, plush oak, sweet spices and layers of complexity. Still very young. The structure should see this improve in bottle for many years to come. Outstanding. — 10 years ago
Cant remember. But will definitelybuy one next time i see one. — 12 years ago
I’m really beginning to see this transition where the 2013s-16s of Rhône and Burgundy are already so drinkable and showing ripe fruit. Like they are making them to drink now, this winemaking style is showing a little more fruit extraction and from what I’ve seen here in Napa, you’re sacrificing the ability to age there for the early drinkability. Hopefully I’m wrong and these are all just warmer vintages. I just wanna see these wines reach their potential 10/20 years out — 7 years ago
2016 vintage on Dec 17, 2017 ($18 at Vinopolis). Made from 3 hectares of vines planted in the 1930s. Brisk, sharp and a bit austere. Not as much minerality as expected. Great effort in a difficult vintage. Will be interesting to see how it evolves. — 8 years ago
Showing the best of this tasting so far. Lots of green vine though. I'd like to see riper, less-green fruit. — 8 years ago
Such an awesome wine! Loved it. — 9 years ago
When you see Vietti, from $10 to $200, buy it and drink it — 9 years ago
Always a reliable taste profile. They seem to never score really high. They definitely craft to a particular style and not to illustrate what the fruit did that year. I haven't had the 12 or 13 it will be neat to see if they step it up a notch.
It's very good but I can't say it's great. However., for some reason it's still my wife's favorite!! Lol — 9 years ago
Had the challenge of turning a room-full of rosé virgins into rosé fans. There was no other choice but to start them up with the best in class. Glad to see happy new rosénatics. — 10 years ago
Very tasty. Can't wait to see how it develops. — 10 years ago

Starts with a touch of funk. And rolls into very peppery charred cherry. Still bright and sharp. Would love to see what happens in 5 years but we couldn't resist our only two bottles. — 6 years ago
