Got this wine in the 50% off section for 5 bucks. Pretty good! — 9 years ago
Excellent rich Shiraz. Fruity nose, soft tannins. — 9 years ago
Not quite in a Jura AOC, but belongs in that section at the store. From a family who provides rootstock to famous producers (Isole e Olena, Rion). Serious full bodied Chard which could be BTG all over town. From Petit Monde who are importing some exciting wine. — 10 years ago
Work with my cousin in wine section at our family Grocery store. It's been sitting in our wine room for a while gave it to me to taste if it was turned. Got a beautiful 9 year old bottle that was perfect loved every drop!!! — 10 years ago
Enjoyed with good friends as we visited and celebrated our return from our Galapagos vacation. Found in the 90 under 20 section at Kroger for about $10.50. — 11 years ago
Yummy yum yums!! Sparkling Marlborough! From vintages section and delish! — 12 years ago
Refreshing. Sweetly acidic. Has mineral depth the likes of an ouzel in a fast-flowing section of the Russian River planing for insects and nymphs — 8 years ago
13.99 BK in pinot noir section — 8 years ago
A total wine pick-up, the nice bright label calling to me from a dusty bottom shelf in the "Other Reds" section. Was on the look out for some Petit Verdot ever since a friend of mine asked, "Why is it that I like Petit Verdot so much", and I had no good answer. Petit Verdot is a classic Bordeaux blending grape, typically added at 5-15% to a blend in order to improve tannic structure and boost the flavor profile. New world producers have been experimenting with this late ripening grape, especially in warmer climates, as a stand-alone counterpoint to strong Merlots and Malbecs. Hence Cellars is a smaller producer in the Walla Walla Valley at ~1500 cases a year, specializing mainly in Bordeaux grapes. Paired with a homemade shrimp red curry. Yum! ~$21 | #petitverdot #wallawalla #hencecellars
On the eyes: Concentrated, opaque, deep dark garnet, med+ stain, med tears, no gas/floc.
On the nose: A bit vinous with early hints of chocolate, spice, and violet yielding to leathery, jammy blackberry. Med+ alcohol.
On the tongue: Med+ acid, med alcohol, med+ tannin, med+ body, round on the palette. Dusty black fruit that is undercut by chocolate, spice, and cedar yielding to a wet leathery chewiness. Still a bit tannic - needs another year or so. — 9 years ago
Expressive and full of bright vibrant red fruits! Great alcohol content and very drinkable! Picked this up at Roths in the Oregon wine section after 5 minutes of trying to decide and I am definitely satisfied with my choice! An excellent Oregon Pinot Noir from the Eola-Amity AVA! Amazing! All the notes and characteristics of an Oregon Pinot Noir with hints of spice and dill. — 9 years ago
Back in NYC. Picked this one up from the discount section. Surprisingly good! — 10 years ago
Very nice wine, especially considering Trentodoc isn't usually listed in the Italian sparkling wine section. I would love to find this again! — 10 years ago
Accidental purchase from the white Burgundy section at Schneider's. Supple. Maple syrup nose, drinking older than 2012. Oak coming on strong on the palate. Warm fall spices. — 10 years ago
Very nice, smooth Barolo. Can always rely on the fine wine section of Waitrose! — 10 years ago
Wow, pretty cool wine. Dry and slightly savory with spring flowers and honeydew notes. Seemed pretty precise while still having character. I think it would be a good addition to the Alcasian section. (After Botani, I think it is our only other dry Muscat?) — 11 years ago
A very nice and pleasant red - surprising find in the bargain section! Very smooth with a warm aroma and easy finish. — 12 years ago
Good chardonnay with great flavour and body — 9 years ago
Deep black core, ruby mid section, starting to show some autumnal browning in the edges.
First sniff is a little murky, soupy. But this blows away after aeration and then a very quiet, sophisticated, graceful bouquet is revealed, hinting at cigars, black olive, sundried tomato, spicebox, fatty Ibericoham, black cherries and plumpudding. Terrific concentration on the palate! Silky soft and smooooth, cinnamon, milk chocolate, leather, discrete notes of oak and garden herbs all coalesce into the very long, echoing finish. Did I already mention this has sheer perfect acidity? An androgynous wine, masculine and feminine at the same time. A home run in this so-so vintage. — 9 years ago
Fresh, vibrant great juice #summerofriesling — 9 years ago
At the vanguard, from the earthy and spicy section. So perfect for a rainy night. Spicy and deep dark fruit. Love this — 9 years ago
Found in Longo's wine section, this bottle is perfect for pizza & pasta dishes. Rob & I also enjoy a glass on a chillier night. Tastes good chilled 🍷 — 10 years ago
So there is a reason this was the last bottle on the shelf in an other wise crowded section of Australian in my ole pal Gary V's shop. This was a real nice bottle. On the nose it's very vibrant fresh like an evening in spring with the elderly neighbor still burning wood. The fruits are dark and tight, a hint of eucalyptus and definite real licorice, not twizzlers, possibly Smith Brothers. I always know I enjoy a bottle immensely when I am alone and after a few sips, I point to the bottle and say, that's a good f ing bottle, then realize I am talking to myself. It's all good. 2010. I am Claus, in the house. — 10 years ago
Rich with cherry spice! I'm going to make a Washington wine section at kiawah spirits — 11 years ago
Great Ries from the Luxembourg section of the Mosel - all the grapes on the hills alongside this magnificent river seem to just be awesome ! — 11 years ago
Small winery tucked in the north western section of Virginia in Bridgewater. Has an aviation tie to the small airport there. Great wine. It is a Meritage after all. — 12 years ago
Joshua Crisp
I had the opportunity to visit this small boutique winery today and I have to say, I am looking forward to what the future holds for them! Andrew is in the process of getting his estate biodynamic certified and he throws his own amphora pots to ferment his wines as he ferments and ages more and more in this non-traditional yet traditional method. This sort of intentionality is reflected in this rosè, as he reserves a section of his vineyard specifically for this bottling. Traditional Pinot funk, fresh peppercorn, picked watermelon and June strawberries recall a Provence-style rosè. Bright yet generous upon the entry, with fresh strawberries and cut blood orange greeting the palate, unfolding to early-season mango and ripe, orange pith, and finishing with Bing cherries, dried river stones, and acid for days. Balanced and thoughtful - just a rosè, but speaks well for the future of this winemaker. I look forward to seeing more from him! — 8 years ago
